Actually I think that UBI store is the Canadian one where I am but it shouldn't make a difference from Canada and the States

You'd think it wouldn't make a difference, but the US site still says Spring 2011.

We had IL-2 1946 before the States did but I think something went haywire with the distribution,that was the only reason. Plus I also remember you had 2001 IL-2 before Canada did by a week. That drove me bugo!

pretty obvious it's delayed , these places just don't change dates for nothing. Why no official word though is strange , they are probably all hiding.

Ubisoft Australia is definitely still showing 24th March as the release date for their download. This just keeps getting better and better. Could we please have some official word on this whole debacle.
If it is released on 24th March, allowing approximately 8 days for delivery, I should receive my copy on April 1st. Hmmmmm........:grin:

I guess we'll just have to wait for 23/24th of March and see for ourselves. If the game is available in stores/web retailers on those days then the game is released.:grin:

If it's not, the release is delayed.:cool:

Since Ubi is the publisher I'll go by what it says on their shop thanks, if that changes then so be it.

The problem with linking to the UBI Shop is that it always defaults to your home country, in my case the USA. UBI USA says "Spring 2011".

Hopefully the download will be released on the 23rd. of March everywhere, and the boxed versions will catch up by market location.

i dont know. something tells me ubi wont be doing a staggered release... i think its all going to come out at once.

so far some people (euro countries) still think their boxed version will arrived on the 23-24th... I think that the delay date hasn't caught up with those websites yet.

The only real way to tell (baring an actual official statement) is to wait to see when CoD goes gold... if it goes gold next week then a march release is possible... but if we are a couple weeks into March and still no word of it going gold then the March release is extremely unlikely, digital download or otherwise.

Wonder if they are delaying the release date as they don't want the release to be overshadowed by the nintendo 3DS which was going to come out the same day in europe (march 25).

Release date for GB is still the same

As other have said,I think that maybe the download version will be available on the 24th of march while the other boxed versions will be released later.

I hope that's not their procedure.

Lets all just keep our fingers crossed that none of the current release dates are off by a couple of years like the previous ones were.

Just done my pre-order for CE via Ubi today for the UK, confirmation email says-

pre-ordered release date: Mon Mar 21 00:00:00 CDT 2011

Will also be ordering download version as well, but would like to order that from STEAM....will keep checking!

I did post in the New Year saying to avoid other big PC game releases, a mid to late April release would be sensible, but with only a few weeks to release I think we would have been told by now if there was a delay!

Well I dont see a huge overlap in buyers for the these games and COD, most people who havent been fans/followers will wait a month or two so they can watch gameplay on youtube, let the bugs get ironed out etc.

Although I am looking forward to S2tw :P

That's great that oleg expects the release to be in march but it doesnt answer the question as to why UBI has changed its (US website) release date from 2/22/2011, to Spring 2011, and why Amazon (US website) has changed the March date to April 19th.

My guess is that they will release download only version in March and then the boxed version later. This will likely increase sales as many here will not wait for boxed. They will buy DL version, then buy boxed version when it comes out.

If this is the case, I will gladly donate for both.

Funniest thing happened to my pre-order at cdon.fi. I place the order last week and received an e-mail today where it said that the game had been removed from the site (probably because of lack of information from UBI). So they gave me a discount code for the trouble :grin:. Thing is, CoD will most likely turn up there again soon with more official info so I will place the order again but this time with my discount code LOL! I love cdon.:cool:

Good question. We know web retailers will have it but what about the street retailers? I'd prefer just to go to my local games retailer to pick it up, quick and easy.

me too yeah, I'm not overly keen on digital copies to be fair, I dont mind it with addons to a main game but buying the main game put the rights as a customer firmly in your hands, buying a digital copy takes ages to get any refunds or exchanges sorted etc etc.

Didn't the other releases of IL2 appear in the US the month after Europe? FB, PF etc. I remember similar conversations with an on-line squad I was with at the time and I'm sure they got them about a month later.

1946 came out later. I ordered mine from a company that had bought a cache of them so fans could have it at the same time as the Eu release. Not sure about PF,EAP,FB, IL2, though.
