MrTorino351 03-06-2011 11:45 PM

hey... Perth, Western Australia.

I found the GQ SWB down some guys driveway, so i pulled up and asked him what hes doing with it,he said he would sell it. i asked how much(expecting him to say $1500) he said $450!!! i held back a smile and said ill give ya $350. he said deal :)

absolute bargain :) especially with the 4.2 diesel that sell for $2000 over here by themselves.

Search on google or youtube: highest altitude by car suzuki samurai or so.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIxM2...eature=related

There is not much known about it. Jeep did an attempt too. The Samurai got higher and they only drove there with 1 car. The Jeep team had 2 cars to get there when they would get stuck (cry babies). x') And I thought the Samurai team was driven by individuals. And I mean by that, if you drive a car that is worth $ 75000 but you don't know how to handle it or to drive it you will suck. If you know your car and drive it with your heart you will get your target. ;)

Thanks Dozer. I have yet to leave how to weld and am in the middle of either moving back to Oregon or moving to a 1 bedroom apartment here in Kodiak. As soon as I get this settled down, I want to learn how to weld. I try to do everything myself, or with someones help.

weldings easy if ya have the right tools mate.

dozer 03-12-2011 02:24 AM

all you need is a $100 arv welder for bar work and some scrap to practive on. If you can angle grind you can weld, does not have to look pretty, as long as its strong ugly does not matter hahaha

MrTorino351 03-12-2011 07:18 AM

arc hahaha i havent used one of them for a while :) a decent gas/gasless mig would be a good investment

dozer 03-13-2011 08:38 AM

for bar work i much rather the arc welder for better steel penetration. I find that mig welds tend to crack before the pipe bends.

Ive got a good gas mig welder from cigweld and find its better used for exhaust, body sheet work ect than heavy applications.

A good weld from a arc welder will see the pipe bend before the weld cracks.

Loves 2 Jacket 03-15-2011 08:13 AM

mmmmm,i weld trailer hitch plates with 400amp migomags and i can safly say the plate would bent apart befor the weld cracked.

you need at least a 200amp mig to get good welds

yeah id agree with that but from his point of view and lack of money i can see he does not have that sort of $$$$ laying around for a quallity mig that can do the job. But you can get a good arc cheap as that will do the job 100%

I have something slightly older, a 1977 Land Rover. I used to go off road a lot with it but the bills got too big last year so it's on road only now. It's a 2.25 petrol which somehow only does about 17mpg.

cants stand working on her at the moment, had to pull the transfer case out twice last week :(. Got it down to a 40 odd min job to remove it from the vehicle. Putting it back in still takes ages though.

Over working on it, spends more time on stands in my shed than driving out besh at this point lol.,

No point fixing the panels, they will just get dinted again. My truck is customised by nature.

Jeeps are my personal favorite 4x4, but I feel it necessary to say that I don't have that world famous "My jeep will go anywhere and your rig can't" attitude. I love all 4x4's and can respect any rig. Some great rigs on here, keep em' comin. This particular picture was taken on my last Rausch Creek run in november, god do I miss it.

It's been my desktop photo since november, and I see no need to change it. Taken on the comp course at Rausch Creek in Pennsylvania, I'm all the way to the left in the photo.

Looks like inverted /\ rear shocks, front leaf conversion from IFS, diff relocated forward about 2 inches to clear tires on full compression,

Shock mounts look the same which seems strange? i would of installed shock hoops for extra up travel.

Chassy reinforced using the mounts for the exocage and possibly wheel spacers to increase the wheel base and stop the tires from rubbing on the chassy.

Could be wrong but the shocks look like ranchos long trvel items or possibly procomp?

Am i close?

lol;)

I did some easy mud trails with my mother her pathfinder on the way home and when I got home she totally freaked out. Only some mud on the outside, nothing on the inside. I mean, I'll wash it off in the morning, no problem mum, I don't know why she was so mad but I suggest you too, do not go muddin' with the Hummer if you don't want your wife to get angry..

Well it's just a solid rig. Would love to get it out on a trail.

The Patrol is a real good off road vehicle. I really like it but it's too heavy in my opinion. I rather have a cheaper Suzuki samurai and pimp it so it that can do the same eventhough the patrol is a lot stronger. I have a lot of friends here with Patrols. :)

Come up to Kodiak! Nothing but trails here. I don't do anything too hardcore since I don't have a winch yet. I'll hit up any muddy trail, it's mainy huge rocks I stay away from right now

The Samurai and Tracker are both awesome once built up. I wouldn't mind getting one.

Yup. I just needed more speed. I need to get rid of my CAI and get a snorkel

SuzukiSamurai 04-27-2011 02:35 PM

I went off roading and drifting with my little mean machine. Engine is the stock 1.3 8v. I was suprised how well it did. :)

That would be awesome! Are you planning on lifting it too? That was a pic of my old Xterra, the one I have now is on page 12.

Don't have any pics of off-roading because most of the time I don't bring a camera.

Currently deployed to Iraq, and I bought the truck from a friend while deployed, so I haven't had a chance to do anything to it yet.

'98 Chevy z71. Not much done to it, but it does have:

4" suspension lift (brand unknown, ass end appears to be sagging)
33" Nitto Terra Grapplers on 17" ULTRA alloy wheels
Long tube headers going to true dual exhaust, has cats but no mufflers
Cold air intake (stupid for 4x4ing IMO)
350ci v8 (5.7L).... what you know about that :P

I want to replace the 4" lift with a 6" suspension lift, but it's just too much money. Truck's not worth enough to spend that kinda money for a lift. Plans for when I get home:

3" body lift
front hitch reciever w/ winch cradle and a winch (can't afford a grill guard w/ winch mount)
Re-tune the PCM
skid plate
15" steel pro-comp wheels with 35x12.5x15 General Tire Grabbers
Also thinking of re-doing the intake and getting a cowl induction hood.

All clean, as it sits right now

After it had to pull my '90 Ford out
http://i56.tinypic.com/200eote.jpg

Had a '90 Ford F150. Piece of junk, but it was fun. Had a 302 (5.0L) with a 4 speed manual (No OD).

All clean, the day I bought it

Broken down in my buddies driveway

Had a '86 Ford Ranger I took trailing. Don't have many pics of it though, fun truck. Had a 5 speed and a v6 :)

Haulin some crap
http://i53.tinypic.com/wr0y88.jpg
Haulin a camper that's WAY bigger than the truck :p
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...Picture001.jpg

Also had a '88 GMC K1500. Bought it with a bad trans and swapped it out.

I just gotta post a pic of my DD though :p Crappy quality, but it's a '01 Civic.
