Because it's pop music. It's highly marketed and post produced which many (probably) associate with less talent as an artist..

Plus you're generally dealing with an older audience here who listens to much different music than the kind Katy puts out. I prefer YES over Perry, and think musucally there's no comparison. Does that mean Katy is less enjoyable to her target audience? Not in my opinion.

All I have to say is, WTF was Russel Brand thinking by dumping her? She is cute, and unless she's a real arss, I can't see why they broke up.

Yup. She's got a set of pipes. I know I couldn't hold a note like that.

Yeah, what Robert said, not my kind of music, but she can sing, and she's hot too. I'm not up on the pop anything scene, but those Hollywood types are mostly insane, so there's no figuring what they do from one minute to the next. It's that combination of money and fame, it just screws most people up.

For the record, I do think she said "thank you". Apart from the audio, she does not exhibit the pathos of someone insulting her audience, and the audience certainly don't react like they heard any thing out of the ordinary.

I think Elmo has a life all his own, It's really amazing to me how many kids love him all out of proportion to anything an adult might see. Maybe your closer to that childlike state of being than most of the rest of us, Raaaid.

How much of an effort does it take to type sentences like a 12 year girl texting.
