Salute

What is the full name of the rendobj.dll file, where is it located, which folder?

Never mind, found it.

You could always go to Resident Shield in AVG menu and add Cliffs Of Dover as an exception.

Thanks for that Deaddtick, I couldn't find the path the other way [PUP], will try this now.

The correct procedure is:
1) Open AVG Interface
2) Click on Tools along the top.
3) Select Advanced Settings
4) Select Excluded Items under Resident Shield
5) Add rendobj.dll (if can't find must recover CoD installation)
6) Click apply then ok
7) Launch CoD

PUP stands for Potentially Unwanted Program, it's not the case with rendobj.dll

I run AVG and had no issues with my CoD install, not even aware there was a problem? Not flown online yet though, perhaps this will trigger something?

It was a commercial DVD copy, perhaps this is different?

this is what my launcher has stop working log says

Description:
Stopped working

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Users\Jonathan\AppData\Local\Temp\WER2B35.tmp.v ersion.txt
C:\Users\Jonathan\AppData\Local\Temp\WER3DFA.tmp.m dmp

I think I have fixed it, no crashes yet...fingers crossed.
I reinstalled Direct X and used AVG Tune up, it found over 5000 reg errors on my system, not sure which solved the problem..but its something else to try for anyone experiencing similar problems.

The false positive detection has been corrected in the latest release/update of AVG

For what it's worth, my experience with latest free version of AVG 2011 is that the "identity protection" module is a cpu parasite. It is always running some script in the background no matter what, so I would advise disabling that part of the program when gaming. You can do this in the user interface.

Caveman 09-13-2011 11:39 AM

1) open AVG
2) Click on Tools along the top.
3) Select Advanced Settings
4) Select PUP Exceptions
5) Add rendobj.dll
6) click apply then ok
7) Launch CoD

On step 5, you have to know the location of the file... I can't find it with search... I guess it got deleted? I tried to use STEAM file integrity to restore but no dice... Hmmm... Can someone give the full path for the problem file?

AVG 2011 is a turd. Just get rid of it. Try Avast! instead and you will find your system running faster too.
