Until today, CoD only supported a pseudo full screen mode, i.e. a stretched window with no borders. Post-patch we'll have three modes: window, pseudo full screen, and true full screen. We just don't have a GUI switch for it yet, and it can't set it right.
This will be addressed in the live version of the patch.

That is nice to hear that the real fullscreen mode will be supported. isn't there usually a huge performance increase when using fullscreen mode with a pure device, so the application has exclusive access to the graphics card? don't know if this has changed with dx10, but we will see :)

My game after patch doesn't see my thurstmaster pro-shocks stick axises in menu anymore I can't play at all right now, buttons work but no stick input recognized, force feedback wasn't working before. I love IL2 and hope to see Cod working good pretty soon.

Installed The Patch no difference noticed in FPS however i know press F3 get a fly by and when i press F1 to get back to cockpit it remains in fly by mode. Black screen on start up and have to start task manager to get the game to show...
Hopefully the patches released in the coming weeks will settle things down

You must have something wrong with your rig. I've got 2600k @ 4.3GHz and GTX 580 and CloD on SSD and I've got nearly no stutters with everything on med except buildings unlimited.

No, i have stuttering too!

Play DCS A10C and you know, what is gameplay without stuttering at highest details.

I've got about 5fps less than before (roundabout 10-15 fps)... actually, I was quite glad with my result before (20 fps, quite stable). Stuttering definetly increased (especially over towns, but water now stutters too), all tests made in exact same conditions, conf.ini also unchanged, low flying (didn't test high altitudes yet), with trees enabled (low).

I believe this is caused by my GPU (Laptop) - further testing now :)

My specs: Laptop, 4gb RAM, HD5650 1gb, i5-540M @ 2,53 GHz, Win7 HP

By the way - Game is AWESOME :D

The game will only display non wide-screen video settings if I uncheck full-screen. If full screen is checked then it displays ALL video modes including some weird 30Hz and 29Hz ones.

I set my desktop and the game resolution both to 1270 x 720 which gives good Performance on my PC. I needed to do this for the game screen to occupy all of my monitor.

Once set-up and in the game performance was much improved with tree's looking very nice, but with flickering shadows.

Flying over London I was getting decent framerates ( 25 fps)

Its definitely much improved, and I have not suffered any crashes once in game.

Keep up the good work :)

Beta patch .. Significant improvement!!

Hi there! I can see a significant improvement with this patch therefore its going the right way... I still cant play properly over London but fps improved and less stutters but sometimes still noticeble.. I play all settings highiest. Ati radeon 5770, amd quad core 965 processor and 4gb ram which is nothing special really. I think this game is not very demanding when it comes to hardware, there is a small problem somewhere hidden within that will get solved out soon.. :) BTW Very good game, I like it a lot and lots of work put into it.. :P

I have to say i cant tell,it looks like better above the water, the microstutters are gone, but try to fly campaign mission and its unplayable, so i would say its improvement but not enough so far to enjoy the game at its full potential.Hope the multicore fix will help.I think my weak point is the G card.
Also the sound was all wrong and sometimes the radio chatter i couldnt understand a word, please improve the sound too, i shouldnt hear metal clink of my bullets bouncing on a plane 400 meters away like it is in my cocpit.
I am on your side guys crossing fingers that all goes well for this sim but you dindnt know you had such a poor performance with the last build???dont tell me.

my rig is Q6600 oc 3G,4GB ram,GF 8800 GTS 512,Win 7 64 ult.
setting of game:lower res i forget how much the next option i got after my native 1680x1050 ,high aircraft, medium effects and particals, rest low or switch off.
