I really, really, really hope that the patch will turn up tomorrow......

That said...(I'm not pointing this at anyone who has posted...yet.)

... my spidey senses are detecting mental gymnastics in the heads of some people reading this thread.

"The testing is going good. All info will be tomorrow"

Is not Russian for:

"The patch is coming out tomorrow! We promise!"

Just wanted to make sure everyone is clear on that one. :D

Please let me be wrong! :D

The patch is coming out tomorrow??!? That's AWESOME news!!

ATAG_Doc 05-04-2012 04:47 PM

No. The last weekend post was to calm all the weekly begging like this. The time frame is at least 60 days out from last weeks post. Give it a rest already. Deep breath. Soft music. Go see a movie. Relax.

ATAG_Doc 05-04-2012 04:59 PM

Sorry for the confusion. It won't be out for at least 60 days from last post. So Julyish. Soft music. Go for a walk. See a movie.

He's not related to the "patch team" so can't tell untill he talks to Luthier

He may not be related to the fixing part of the team, but he definitely could be related to the testing part of the team. He and some of the testers he may have talked to might think that testing is going well.

If the patch was ready to be released, testing wouldn't be good, testing would be (almost) ready. It's not going to be out tomorrow ... It's more likely to be world's end on December 21, 2012.

alado 05-04-2012 08:41 PM

patch will be ready one week before that BOM

After that necro bump "that was a misstake" our patience with your "jokes" maybe is a bit strained? ;)

Mods, it would be nice if this thread was kept rather clean so it only contains updates from Sukhoi.ru and comments regarding them?

So...

The latest news from Blacksix today (2012-05-04) at 15:45

"Once again I remind you That the update Will be Tomorrow. At the expense of Bonuses on May 9 - we think, but still do not promise anything."

At the expense of bonuses? A bit confusing - any native russian speakers that can comment how bad Google translate is? And what is it he does not want to promise? The patch or an update? Confusing :)

BlackSix .. sorry to bother you, but I have been fiddling with the FMB lately and looking at the ground objects available (and noting which ones are not) I have started to wonder on what base Maddox Games chooses the ground objects. Is it availability of source material combined with a bit of history?

An example: In game we have exactly one artillery gun (10,5cm leFH 18). Okay, maybe other types just fell prey to the problems with release and all that came afterwards. But we also have a number of captured french and polish (!) tanks whose role in the BoB was essentially nonexistant. It's just weird for someone like me to spend considerable amounts of work on objects which have no impact on gameplay within the chosen theater whereas other objects which would have an impact aren't modeled. I'm talking about british artillery as a whole (25pdr, 4.5in howitzer, the various coastal batteries), german heavy artillery (15cm sFH 18, 17cm K18, 21cm Mörser 18 etc etc) and of course the wide field of ships. Just some food for thought.

In 2004-2007 we had great plans for ground objects, guns, tanks, different campaigns and add-ons for CloD. You know about finish this history((

jibo 05-05-2012 07:30 AM

modelling ground objects takes a lot of time, too much time for now
If the sequel is a great success, maybe you will have more time and funds for this

Mmm, for may 9:th a video of all the flyable planes that are meant for the sequel flying low in massive tight formations over the red square would be a fitting video? Of course with all the ground vehicles joining the parade and harsh old men in funny fur hats at the podium that salute the parade? And of course the national anthem in the background... :)

Ahh the soviet/russian anthem truly kicks butt with all other anthems as a backgrund for parades and after winning stuff. So many times we (Sweden) where humiliated by the USSR in hockey the 80:ies and still you could not stop yourself from humming when the Russian anthem started :) Makarov, Krutov, Larionov, Fetisov and Kasatonov. What a line up...

jibo 05-05-2012 10:14 AM

Thx, we will need a bit more informations about the exact future of cod.
We know we will have to buy the sequel, but in that case will the games will run the same engine ? A new Cod/BoM platform ? Or cod will just stay on the side.
I hope this will be clarified with the announcement.

It's been mentioned many a time. CoD and BoM will have the same engine. One will dovetail into the other like Pacific Fighter did with IL2: Forgotten Battles/Ace Expansion Pack. It cintinued like that with the PE2 and Sturmoviks over Manchuria addons. It'll be the same with CoD and BoM.

Unless there's been a significant announcement that I missed, this is the way it will work for the future of the franchise.

lol, you're right. You just never know. I was looking at the glass half empty when I should have looked at the glass half full. We'll see if I was justified or not soon I suspect.
I certainly won't say, "I told you so" so I hope you won't say, "I told you so" to me. :-)

tintifaxl 05-05-2012 12:57 PM

I really can't imagine they wouldn't know the release date of the patch at least 1 day in advance. I am positive, there will be no patch today.

III/JG53_Don 05-05-2012 01:00 PM

Yes allthough this info would be awesome I highly doubt it.
They had roughly 3 days to fix at least some of the issues mentioned in the last update. Dont really see that coming. ;)

Anyway Im curious what the update will tell us, lets wait and see. We should belive them that they are probably a lot more frustrated about the further ongoing of the patch than we are.

I reckon tintifaxl and I can put our two 'half empty glasses' together and make a full glass, which will cause the patch to be released. That might work.

I was under the impression next week was an official Russian holiday ? If so, I would be surprised if the patch was released and the dev. staff was off for a week. More likely it will be news intended to " manage our expectations ". Some encouraging positive information followed by we are almost there.

Y'all recognise that B6's post was Saturday about a half hour before the patch was released. The word Test on the side of the Grumman was a hint that the alpha patch (hence TEST) was to be released imminantly. Cryptic - yes. But in hindsight it makes sense.

Test away fellow forum menbers. Test away.
