Doesnt really make sence to do it that way round, by that I mean if you keep tweaking and tweaking all the way till the date your game is ment to go gold couldnt that just go on indefinately? Besides apparently it went gold last week according to a russian games site.

They are working on the sim fixing bugs etc until they decide enough is enough and it goes gold. If the game went gold last week, there still wasn't enough time to send it to the publishers and have them release the product for March 25th. The publishers need atleast three weeks or more to press and ship the disks.

so that would mean the download shouldnt be delayed then?

lol, and to think all of us have been blaming Ubisoft when all along it was Oleg holding the release dates up. Its great to have an insider on here, give us a shout Chivas when its ready to go gold.

Its obvious at this point the publisher isn't interested in releasing the download before the hard copy.

Its obvious that publisher can't release the product until after the sim goes gold. There has been no gold annoucement other than the rumored gold release in russia last week. Like I said before the publisher needs a few weeks or more before they can publish and ship the product. Thats if they don't decide not to do more testing with their own people which sometimes happens.

You keep patting yourself on the back for predicting delays to the release. Delays are the most obvious prediction a person can make with gaming software.

There's a large difference in entertainment factor there. Not to mention I don't know of any movies (personally) that have a rabid fan base of people and forums, waiting 5 or 6+ years for it to be released. Regardless, I don't see why anyone has to wait longer than the other. <insert release date here>, 12:00am Russian time, release the thing internationally. Done deal, everyone's happy, nobody has to wait longer.

I'm not dissing the game, not dissing UBI (at the moment), and definitely not dissing Oleg or the 1C crew. Merely just expressing my displeasure at having to wait another month to play this game that I've been waiting so long for, that's had a target release date up until approximately a week from release. :)

Come on guys... i just made a small joke. Maybe i missed the right smiley or the "irony" tags.

I second the things about the long lasting fun of games (especially this one). I dont wanted to compare the entertainment factor of movies and games . I´m into IL2 from the very beginning (beta) until now (1946) and i´m really confused and annoyed about UBI´s "tactic" here. Silent Hunter 5 was the same dilemma...

Anyway... dont crucify me
But if you want to... just wait till i´ve played CoD at least one time:mrgreen:
