This is common knowledge for a week already. Now need to spam every thread with "are we there yet?" and "the devs must post today when we are there". Grow up please.

And yes it is normal that it takes more than 6 months or a year for a new person to fix a mess created during 6 years by several other programmers who were fired.

Ini@ moderators: Please directly delete this thread, as it is again totally wrong. I do not understand, why some guys interpret posts their way and finally open a thread with a totally misleading topic!

Sorry, that I am trolling now, too, but wtf is the initiator of this thread thinking? Learn to be patient, before posting shit, which is just waste of reading time. It is childish, because the poster of a new thread should be aware, that he also has kind responsibility to avoid such "KIDS" posts.

Again several minutes waste of time initiated by a guy, who is not able to think 5 meters. Sry for that but it makes me angry. No discipline here in the forum. Every post is flooded by misleading information and hundreds of pages with waste.

If I want to follow here, I have to read dozens of pages per monute with crap.

Listen in? Who said I listen in? People, colleagues, friends, they all complain to me about things that have peeved them off. You also have a choice in that you don't read their posts or just put them on your ignore list.

you could just as easily choose not to read my posts, or put me on ignore......why is it people full of such good advice never take it?

I am not whinging as you put it, I am just saying that people who bought the game and are unhappy with it have a right to complain if it is not working for them.

Why should I put you on ignore just because you disagree with me, it's not like I am bothered that you disagree with me. I suggested it to you because you sound fed up of people complaining.

I have exactly the same view on the ignore list thing as you, maybe you're not the classic example of the whiner I describe so I appologize for having said that, yes I am fed up of the whinier side of the complaining.

But......complaining becomes whining very quickly when it's just a repetition, I ask....if you said it once to 'everyone' does it need to be repeated?, why are complainers under the impression that complaining on this forum is going to rewrite history and make all things well again? so far the whining has achieved nothing but irritation to forum users.....this is the real point here, when you complain here it's not directed where it really needs to go (the devs) it's just forum bloating crap.

Nett effect of all this is just damaging to the game (I believe it's the intention) this couldn't have been illustrated more clearly by the recent moronic and fake 'Black Six' post, there is no denying there are people out there hell bent on causing damage to this game and that is what I want to counter.

I wouldn`t call it intentional. IMO it`s more of the plain too much time - moronism mix.

Yes, of course, but why conflate that with genuine critcism? Because it's easy and fun? Because you can grandstand and do the sword-of-righteousness routine? Because you can just lump everyone in together and make out it's all rubbish?

Well, yes, you can. But one runs the risk of looking like an idiot in the process.

As intentionally for damaging the game...well, there are many replies to this, but we'll forgo the easy pot-shots such as the devs got there first etc...

If you are intent on having the last word, it helps to have a first word i.e. something to say...not just countering every time for it's own sake. Your posts, and those of Carguy, Aces, Hayward et al... need substance, not just complaining-about-the-complaining. It doesn;' go anwywhere because it can't go anywhere - especially when the underlying causes for complaint remain valid.

Wow and you really can't see the hypocrisy in that statement?
You really can't quite believe that some people are genuinely annoyed by the constant 'entitlement junkie' culture breeding here, and are automatically categorised as 'fanboi trolls' should they let it be known.

No. Holier-than-thou pirouetting. People are criticising a game, not complaining that they haven't ascending to heaven.

>>I remember your first words on this forum well, it started with hypocrisy and has continued since.<<

Well then I think you need to move on, not least because you're probably remembering my 'recent' re-joining. I was a member (albeit quiet) for years before. But don't get too worked about it. Bongo...'smart' and 'smarter' seem to be recurring themes in your posts. As if you're trying to one-up all the time. Something else you would appear to have in common with Carguy, Hayward, Aces, Robtek etc. It is about appearances, not reality i.e. trying to appear to defeat the critics. But once again, the product defeats you, not the complaints.

And this is what, ultimately, it boils down to, perhaps. Deferred frustration - you and others are probably not playing the game as much as you would like (for the same reasons as the rest of us) and probably turning your mis-placed anger on the critics instead of the devs, in the mistaken belief you're clinging to higher ground, and performing a useful function. In truth, you and your sort are doing neither.

Be as wise as you like - the game is still ****ed (that's porked, to go with your cooked goose)

Check you on revisions! never mind I have let countless of your spelling/syntax/grammar errors go on the grounds that they can keep eachother company if nothing else :)

It's Falstaff btw, you may want to start practising your puns round about now....

And check you...'befallen' indeed... :)

Is that before or after 'crestfallen'?

I'll give it a rest now. I suggest you do the same. The odds say you probably can't resist a reply. We'll see.

No news, is quite simply no news, nothing more, nothing less.

This however, is comedy news,

Quote:

TEXAS BEER JOINT SUES LOCAL CHURCH OVER LIGHTNING STRIKE!
(This should keep you chuckling for awhile)

A bar called Drummond's (in Mt Vernon, Texas) began construction on an
expansion of their building, hoping to "grow" their business.

In response, the local Southern Baptist Church started a campaign to
block the bar from expanding - petitions, prayers, etc.

About a week before the bar's grand re-opening, a bolt of lightning
struck the bar and burned it to the ground!

Afterward, the church folks were rather smug - bragging about "the
power of prayer".

The angry bar owner eventually sued the church on grounds that the
church... "Was ultimately responsible for the demise of his building,
through direct actions or indirect means."

Of course, the church vehemently denied all responsibility or any
connection to the building's demise.

The judge read carefully through the plaintiff's complaint and the
defendant's reply.

He then opened the hearing by saying:

"I don't know how I'm going to decide this, but it appears from the
paperwork that what we have here is a bar owner who now believes in
the power of prayer, and an entire church congregation that does not."

True story
:-P

In my country we say : No news, good news!

Hope is live, we have hope we shall live long!

We have never being disapointed by the IL2 games never at the end.

Luftwaffepilot 04-27-2012 08:33 PM

Maybe Russians have a different timetable and "early next week" is like "end of the week that comes after the month in beginning of next year" ??? Just being a bit optimistic ;)

jibo 04-27-2012 08:44 PM

at least we can tell that it's the first time in history that a allegedly "broken game" is bringing so much attention ( maybe since Daikatana)

Luthier, Megaupload link doesn't work

Megaupload link has been siezed by USA govt. Please give alternate download. Not torrent (too slow).

159th_Jester 04-27-2012 09:17 PM

If you're referring to the "May 4th Beta" thread, if you look closer you'll notice that someone has dug up a nearly 1 year old thread. It's not a new patch at all...... Just someone's sense of humour (definition remains debatable).

GOA_Potenz 04-27-2012 09:36 PM

Another week no patch

Well another week has passed and no patch yet, now this make me think why 1C doesn't do the same as neoqb with RoF and sell the sim to 777 studios that is an amazing development studio that did magic with RoF, our actual sound engine is thanks to 777 studios's sound engineer, that did magic with the CloD sound engine in just one patch

So 1C please, think about it and sell CloD to 777 studios for the good of this sim.

777 Studios isn't interested in fixing bugs and making a quality sim. They are interested only in implementing the features that they can sell as DLC.

Glaring bugs in the game remain unfixed, but the developers continue to release paid cosmetic addons.

My Life Isn't Desperate For A Patch...Is yours?

Calm down and take your woman out for a drink of wine.

Enjoy the wine.

And then enjoy your woman.

Simple solution.

I agree with cometics sales but still compared with clod the rof is 1000 times more refined and enjoyable as a game i think. which bugs are you refferring to?

Talon89 04-27-2012 10:03 PM

Nope, but I'm on vacation, so it would be good timing.

Stupid thread, at any rate.

Some quotes from the new (old) patch

FS_Phat said:

>>Performance gain is considerable for crossfire, at least for me and its only using 50%-60% of each of my 4 GPUs so clearly more optimisation to come.

I get avg 40FPS and 80FPS max in BlackDeath with single card and avg 74FPS and 176FPS max with crossfire. I call that significant. This is only in single player though.<<

>>Great work guys! Best performance and smoothness so far!!

Black Death Track AVG 67 FPS MAX 168 FPS MIN 15 FPS.
ATI Crossfire working all 4 GPU cores 50 to 60% smoothly.
Settings all High with 8xAA SSAO on, grass, roads, shadows on full screen mode w/ vsync off.

I notice the spit vs 110 track stutters and drops FPS a lot with the clouds though.<<

>>Finally able to play in my Laptops native resolution of 1920 x 1080 WOW!

Just did some quick tests over london which was fantastic. Not got my stick plugged in yet so i cant really do a proper flight but I just launched the london and manston flights and used mouse to pan around. Got average of 37 in the black death which I would imagine is acceptable?<<

Blackdog_Kt said:

>>Best performance and stability ever on my rig. I unzipped into the main installation folder and then cleared the cache folders as usual before running the sim.

Before this patch i had trouble with my GPU not clocking up as it should, then i tried forcing the clocks which worked but gave me reboots, then i renamed the ubi logo video file which again gave me correct GPU speeds but also resulted in instability and reboots.

With the current beta patch i just set it to run in fullscreen mode and the catalyst drivers took care of everything else.<<

Some good endorsements there....I would also quote Robtek and some others but their posts seem to have been hastily removed....

Sadly, it all speaks volumes. The triumph of wishful thinking? It was a mean trick to play (I had no inkling or part) but you have to agree, it is instructive....

Rise of flight was released June 2009 so it is 3 years old. Clod is one year old...

Fear not...you should see the patch approximately in 9 months:-P

Richie 04-27-2012 10:35 PM

Unlike some people I am having no problems what so ever with this game. I guess fps could be better down near the ground but it is still very playable by a long shot. What I am waiting for is Russia and the rest of the war because The Battle Of Britain was never my "Piece Of Cake" to begin with as far as likes in the theaters of war. You are basically doing the same route over and over every time you take off day in day out. Russia has water in the Crimea and your running all over the map in the mother land. The Mediterranean has a mirroriad of different landscapes to battle over. The Air War over Europe is back to flying over the channel but I like it better because I'm deffending over land over a large expansion hunting for targets. I've gone back to IL-2 for a while for it's great variety and old friends.

sorak 04-27-2012 10:38 PM

I like how people here like to tell you how to treat your women. Why dont you call your mom also and tell her you love her and thanks for giving birth to you.

jibo 04-27-2012 10:48 PM

just as a reminder, 777 studio brought a license from shockwave production to use the merlin engine and built a game on top of it

it's faster to build a car this way

RickRuski 04-27-2012 10:49 PM

Yep, you're dead right. Never looked at the dates, just saw Sli/Crossfire support and hoped.
Should have known better. This whole thing is becoming a major joke.

diveplane 04-27-2012 11:01 PM

got to the point like it or not but i dont think i will ever purchase software from this company again its been a trainwreak,
almost all these latest titles from ubi soft are far from finished, poor beta testing inhouse, titles such as silent hunter 5 now this sim.
i tested out rise of flight free demo, its incredible the performance difference these 2 sims offer, looks like rise of flight
dev team used there minds and created code that uses all the cpu cores, had performance in mind from day one.
such as shame , willing to give it one more patch attempt trial, if it fails in performace i am removing this software from my drive for good, and moving on

we pay good money for these titles least have them tested better before launch, other method many companies are now starting to do is pre purchase open beta testing,
to get more of the community involved, for the efforts they get some freebies ie addons maps etc extra content at no charge ,
more heads finding bugs the better polished product we get.

not one for rants but it had to be said.

MB_Avro_UK 04-27-2012 11:02 PM

You hardly EVER play MP in clodo, try a populated server! ... Its only playable for 20-120 mins at best... For a multiplayer Squadron this is a slow strangulation!

Would make sense, if you leave out the fact that CloD was way longer (maybe twice as long?) in development.

What you could perhaps do, is compare the costs for the customer of those two flightsims. I probably spend $200 or so on ROF and about $30 for CloD. Of course you can also pay way less for ROF, it's even F2P now (of course with limited planeset avaliable).

777 is mostly ROF, so alot of that money from sales could go into the development of ROF, while for CloD, Ubisoft also gets its share, atleast from non-russian market sales. So that makes a difference

It does make use of all CPU cores, but not fully. Overall CPU usage varies i think and can be as low as 50%. Same is true for the GPU.

Don't like much of the recent pay-ware stuff, but the number of "glaring" bugs is not exactly that big.

But no, i don't think 777 is that interested in buying this sim, so the topic is mood.

Fenrir 04-27-2012 11:17 PM

Chrissakes....

They're working to try and fix things. Yes it's been a sorry state of things, yes a lot of people are unhappy paying for poor content, but from what they tell us they are trying to repair the sim; which incidentally is no simple matter.

Give the poor sods a break - I think they get the picture. I think they got it a long time ago.
