Default Cliffs with xp pro?

New to this forum.
Been a fan of Sturmovik from day 1,having problems running cliffs of dover, have recently upgraded pc to specs below.
Win xp.i5 2.9 quad core, nvidia 680 gtx 2g,8g of 1300mghz ddr3,
Game runs ok but then i get tearing and folding of visuals which spoils the day
have tried most stuff includeing a 3g switch.
I run Rise of flight at max levels and system dosnt even break a sweat.
I was wondering if its because im running on xp and not win 7???
Any help guys?? I would love to play this game, being a qualified glider pilot on 3 aircraft types the flight modeels on these games are supurb.
Anyways any help would be greatly appreciated.

When i upgraded from XP to WIN 7 CLOD went from unplayable to reasonably smooth and my PC is nowhere near as good as yours. Now with latest patch i get 60 fps unless near lots of buildings or clouds with most settings high and some medium.

Core 2 Duo @3.3 Ghz, nvidia 560ti, 8Gb,

You have a good system that would benefit A LOT from moving to windows 7 64-bit. Not to mention that you can then use DX10 which you now can't, essentially handicapping your graphics card.

My advice would be to go for it as soon as you can
