Saitek Throttle Quadrant Issues

When I assign the 3 throttles on the quadrant to power 1-3 I lose control of radiators (using R key), mix and supercharger settings.
Much testing with 2 different pilot configs and 2 quadrant profiles seems to indicate that radiator, mix and supercharger control is not available unless power (not power 1 etc) and only power is the only throttle axis. I can still get the reverse thrust area to operate as engine kill switches etc and all the other key bindings work fine. This is not a problem with planes with autoeverything engine controls or single enginned planes (obviously) but its a real PITA with the rest.
Anyone know why this might be or any work arounds? I suspect that it is a coding issue with IL2 - it supports multiple throttles now and individual pitch settings but at the expense of radiators, mix and supercharger control?
