Default Guardsmen

I've noticed something strange while playing... While the stats given by King Bounty guides and stuffs, the guardsmen (and possibly other units as well?) have different stats than stated in these.
He has 3 speed instead of 2 stated by all guides and also somehow get smashing blow thanks to training too. I don't think I installed any mods that changed their stats in any way either, so I don't know what's up with that. They do sound nicer than before that way though.
Were they changed in a most recent patch?

First i ask what game you play ? The Legend , Armored princess/Crossworlds or Warriors of the north. Because for the Legend last patch was 2 years ago, and nothing was changed since then, same goes for Ap/Cw. But original Swordman/Guardman speed is 3, only difference is Swordman have initiative 3, and Guardman 4.

Check their in game settings in game folder/dat/data.kfs and find in there footman.atom for swordman stats, or footman.atom for guardman. Open that file with notepad/wordpad and browse unit in game statistics. But this is stats they have in all 3 games :
Code:
main {
  class=chesspiece
  model=footman.bma
  cullcat=0
}
arena_params {
  features_label=cpi_footman_feat
  features_hints=armor_header/armor_hint,alertness_header/alertness_hint
  race=human
  cost=70
  level=2
  leadership=35
  attack=10
  defense=16
  defenseup=4
  initiative=3
  speed=3
  hitpoint=35
  krit=8
  movetype=0
  hitback=1
  hitbackprotect=0
  attacks=moveattack,moveattack2
  features=armor,humanoid,care
  resistances {
    physical=20
    poison=0
    magic=0
    fire=0
    . . .
  }
As for smashing blow, it`s neat ability for almost 50% more dmg then normal attack for that unit. But later in game if you have high enough crit% almost every attack from unit will make 150% dmg and smashing blow become useless.
Have fun

Yeh it's The Legend obviously. I was checking its stats on Gamebanshee and it stated it had 2 speed. Also even though it's not written in the training skill, it would seen smashing blow also works with guardsmen somehow.
And yeh, that's the stats shown too in the footman2.atom.

Wait, special skills can't crit?

I asked what game you play, because patch info. Latest patch done for the Legend was november 2008 as i mentioned, and that is long ago in digital world So nothing changed in game files since then.

As for crit hit, only normal attacks can make it. Special unit abilities can only make dmg listed in description of that skill. So no crit for smashing blow.
I`m not sure but think in WotN there is crit% for special abilities and spells.

Any way have fun with the Legend, and if interested check this mod for it. I had great fun playing it : http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=29080 link for download , and link for description of mod and changes just to see if you`ll like it http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=27802

Thanks for the reply. As for mods, I only prefer to use those that don't change the game in itself, like the UI mod and the camera mod. I also did a little "modding" to make some text smaller because they don't work well with my game's resolution (1920x1200) and now I no longer have the ---- before are names or cut out "g"s.
