Hi

I have been playing the MoW series for a while now and really enjoy them and keep coming back to them.

I discovered the DCG for MoW Original and Assault Squad.
What, if any, is the difference between the two generators?

Also, what mods are you guys using or would recommend?

Cheers

The difference between them is that each one is made for a different version of the game, ie MoW and MoW:AS...

Another difference is that MoW: DCG do contain heavy artillery, whilst MoW: AS: DCG doesnt, due to a change in how artillery spotting works in MoW: AS and its more towards MP gaming style, which simply broke them for DCG single player gaming.

Thanks for the response Zeke.

So.....AS DCG is geared for MP gameplay and omits the artillary side that is available in MOW.

That'll do nicely......

Curiosity.......why is the points available in MOW DCG a lot less than in AS DCG......?

Cheers again!!!

Hi

I have also noticed in the MOW DCG that the minimap differs from the actual gameplay map. It looks like the maps are different..............one map had what looked like railway tracks on the minimap but not a rail insight on the main map?
This does not hap[pen on every map?
Is it something I have done incorrectly or a bug. The install for the DCG went without hitch?

Cheers

Both DCG versions are only made for SP gaming, what I meant is that MoW:AS is more geared for MP than for SP, and thus, it broke the artillery spotting system for SP gaming with DCG.

Points shouldnt be less in MoW DCG than in AS: DCG, unless Ty2903 (who is responsible for the AS version of DCG) changed something which deals with this kind of stuff.

Minimap should reflect the actual gameplay map, however, if you save your game during a battle, ie. not to end it, but just to save - you will end up with the same minimap for the rest of the game play, meaning that you will see the same minimap in all forthcoming maps until you actually quit both MoW and DCG and restarts them both (and this is one of the reasons to why we changed some of the menu options to be like "...." instead of "load", "save" etc). I don´t know why the minimap bug occurs, but it is simply avoidable by not "cheating" and saving the game until you´ve actually finished the battle and decided to quit for the day...

Thanks for reply Zeke........
makes sense what you say about minimap bug.

Is there a way of being able to continue a campaign after closing both the game and the DCG. The only way is to keep the DCG going and 'load' a save from when last played. But if the PC needs to shut down then it doesn't work?

To continue to play a Campaign in DCG after your PC has been shut down, simply start campaign.exe, then start MoW (or MoW:As if you are playing that version). Then in the in-game menu, press "Single Player", "Select Mission" and then "Dynamic Campaign" and lastly, press "Dynamic Campaign Mission" and you will be at the beginning of the next mission in your on-going Campaign.

However, as soon as you feel that you want to stop playing DCG (cant understand why you should want to do so though... ), always save as "Result" (or whatever you named your save game file as in the setup phase of installing the mod) and then quit both the game and campaign.exe.

You can read more about how to play, setup, etc DCG at our MoDDB section, http://www.moddb.com/mods/dynamic-ca...-dcg/tutorials and if reading text makes you want to cry, you can always look thru our tutorial videos at http://www.moddb.com/mods/dynamic-ca...tor-dcg/videos.

We are also more active at moddb than here at 1C forums.

Because MoW:AS is unrealistic with its silly barrage system for howitzers and thus, real men play MoW and real men doesnt need that many points to be able to win in DCG...
