Default Arequest for the team.

Put simply..please swap the controls for engine 1 and 2.

Currently engine1 controls the left engine and and engine 2 controls the right.
Now in a plane where throttle controls are usually mounted on the left hand side of the cockpit this means the real controls on my PC control have to be reversed. engine1 is also for single engine planes as well so needs to be the far right handle so just swapping them in the controls menu does not work.

I hope its not a difficult fix, and thank you guys for the marvelous sim that this is

I agree with any reasonable request, and this is no exception, as long as the new feature is implemented as an option.

Actually, throttles in multi-engine types are usually on the right hand side…

Did not think of that. The Mitchell and others have throttle controls in the center which makes the orientation correct
The Mosquito and most German 2 engined aircraft have theirs on the left hand side
Pilots clearly had to be ambidextrous.

I say it again: I agree with your request as long as it’s implemented as an option. And you see the reason: we disagree on the throttles position.

By the way: throttle “in centre”, means “right hand side” on B25, because pilot in command is on the left, and “left hand side” on the Betty, because pilot in command is on the right.

I said “usually” but, to be a little more detailed, we can say: all multi-engine type with side-by side seating and pilot in command on the left have throttles on the right, and the same is true for many single pilot heavies, such as Lancaster, Halifax and Stirling. I would dare to say that the right-hand types are the majority, and is not a case that throttle(s) on the right is today standard, even on single engine types.

To sum it up: the possibility to reverse throttle for people who like it is nice, but people with different tastes should have the option to stay with throttle on the right.

Sounds reasonable Furio. I don't think I'd want to see this changed (I'm very used to the current method) but if it makes more sense for some users I'm more than happy to support a toggle switch type option to modify it.

Well, one thing that might be good for people who has multi-throttle levers, was to have both info on the HUD about engine power. Instead of only: Power 35%, Power46%, etc, it could show E1Power35% and on a botom line E2Power46%... What do you people think, would this be usefull?

I don't get it... I mean, I don't understand the request, why to swap Eng 1 and Eng 2 controls.

I know .................................... usually this is the setup for two and four engines

#1 - port - engine on the left
#2 - starboard - engine on the right
====================================
#1 - port outer - on the left furthest from the fuselage
#2 - port inner - on the left nearest to the fuselage
#3 - starboard inner - on the right nearest to the fuselage
#4 - starboard outer - on the right furthest from the fuselage

If he has a throttle quadrant just move the whole thing from his right to left surely ?

.....then operate joystick with left hand.
My throttle quadrant was built to work with the left hand as it is in most single engined aircraft and some twins.
An option to swap would be nice

The issue for me at least is which handle controls a single engined aircraft under the current system
Engine 1 is on the left which also controls the single engine aircraft
Engine 2 is on the right
If I set up my handles to match the handles as shown in in the cockpit, then in order to fly a single engine I have to use the far left one and my extra controls are attached to the one on the right.

The handle closest to me the right one is my primary one that I would like to control both my single engine and the right engine on twins
meaning it would have to designated as Engine 1

Hope that clarifies what I am saying
