Help on destroying the Bruno Railway gun.
I've had a lot of fun so far with this game but I can't seem to destroy the German rail gun. Everywhere I look I see a group of enemies and most vehicles/guns can't be used except a select few.....I'd appreciate a few pointers asap if its not too much to ask.

This is a tough one Go crouched on right flank and infiltrate the enemy rear. Lure enemy 4-barreled AA gun away from the main force and immobilize it (shoot at its tracks with a PTRD). Kill bailed out crew and capture it. Then lure enemy vehicles to it and destroy them one by one.
In th end, place TNT underneath the gun to destroy it (its in the orange-labeled crates nearby). |

I've done it little bit differently. First I went to the right flank, of course after stopping that convoy going through the middle of the map. So, right flank - sneaking in the bushes. Got behind that mobile AA gun and tried to capture it after killing those operators, but I don't know why I could not (there was always a crosshair, not "go and get in that vehicle" kind-a cursor). So I did the left flank - first took out the whole trench, then waited a little bit, lure other Nazis and pray not to lure any vehicle at this point - after that I went east to clear another trench. And another. Then my Anti-Tank guys went to shoot the tracks of that big tank in the middle of the village. When it was immobilized I told them to run for their lives back to the trench. After few tries it worked
Then it was relatively simple. Killed them all, one by one. Destroyed the AA Guns, took the TNT and good bye Bruno. One of the best missions - I like small villages crawling with Nazis and few good men to take'em out [img=http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/7355/redtide2009122122004262.th.jpg] |

Another way is to first quickly move to the middle and take out the tank crew.
Wait for the german supply trucks and take them out aswell. Not too hard to keep the halftrack in one piece, so you afterwards got quite good supplied infantry, an MG-Halftrack and the tank. Use your sniper to get the AT-Rifle (atleast 2 ones are around there from the fallen german soldiers) and move on the the right flank. There is a train incoming which you can pretty easy take out. Not really necessary though. I did it to get cover for the later parts of the mission. Move on with your sniper to take out some infantry on the right flank and once the Flakpanzer moves towards you, use the AT-Rifle to take out it's turret. Repair the Flakpanzer and use it to destroy the forward AA guns and the halftrack in the middle. The heavy tank will now try to engage you. Move back to your side of the river and place your verhicles behind the train, so they are spottable, but not killable. The heavy tank will keep following them and once he gets close to the train use an infantrist to take out it's turret. Once the crew leaves the tank take them out, use the repair kit on the tank and crew it. With this heavy tank all other units (the one remaining AA gun, armored cars, MG-Nests, Infantry... etc) is just easy to finish off. Just use the secondary gun for the vehicles and infantry in buildings (since it's range is huge) and the MG, primary gun for close by enemies. Last edited by MilkaCow; 12-24-2009 at 04:19 PM. |

Nice one.
Once I've tried to stop the train (which I did) and stole those tanks, but sad enough - I coulnd't. It's a pity that you can't hijack those tanks... Merry X-Mas. |

Had something similar, but then I've noticed that one of them stayed behind and that was the problem. Make sure they're all there. Otherwise can't help you.

Yeah, it is frustrating not to be able to capture the tanks from the incoming train...
I managed to finish that mission by sending 3 guys crawling to the heavy tank, pull back behind the trench and shoot everybody from here. At one point, I got my tank disabled by a lucky shot, but the big part of the job was done. The rest was just raiding the AA guns using grenades (or distract the gun crew with a guy on the other way, and shoot the bastards from behind ) |
