Default "Poison" Perk for Scouts

Can someone explain to me what the "poison" actually does? It states that poison kills a wounded enemy. I tried the perk, and my scout attacked a wounded enemy but nothing special (no death) occurred.

Am I missing something? The poison perk description appears to describe poisoned arrows?

Its part of the damage system that isn't explained in the manual. Its something that Fantasy General had. Damage is done in deaths and wounds. You see wounds as red damage bar. Deaths are black bar. Red damage can be healed by resting. black damage can be cured by recruiting near a city, using a elf spell, or other magical items. Recruiting costs money and reduces experience points. Poison makes all wound damage death damage.

It also probably only kills the units the scout would have wounded, and not the previously wounded (unless it rewounds them or kills the whole unit).
