I may very well have an answer for the .\BMRender\rmode.cpp Error!
Hello, recently I posted that I had an error starting this game, where a Windows System Error Dialog Box would appear saying the following:
.\BMRender\rmode.cpp(5423) : DirectX call Failed: -1,1, D3DERR_INVALIDCALL
(The method call is invalid. For example a methods parameter may not be a valid pointer)
Well, the error can be fixed by opening up your DirectX SDK utility control panel. Make sure the Direct3D 9 tab is selected, and change the Debug Output Level slider all the way to the left [to less], then make sure the Debug/Retail D3D9 Runtime radio button is set to Use Retail Version of
Direct3D 9 AND NOT Use Debug Version of Direct3D 9.
On the DirectDraw tab, make sure that Use Hardware Acceleration box is checked, and also make sure that Use ModeX for 320 by X (DX7-) is NOT checked. Switching these settings to the above specs should solve the pointer error.
