Default Army composition question

Hey all,

I recently came across Armored princess, finished it and read there was one beore it called The Legend, so I went and get it aswell and here I am :p

So I have some kind of a problem.
I'm aiming for a animal only army, at the moment my army consists of:
Cyclops
Ancient Ent
Alchemist
Giant
Royal Thorn

I thought of changing the center 3 for the 3 different dragons, but I have been reading some on this forum and it seems they won't be usefull the entire game (haven't been to demonia yet, dont like to swap and switch my army all the time).
So do anyone have some suggestions for me, or just some army building tips in general would help as well, thanks

Greetz,
BobMaster

read my strategy guide for units

as for your unit combination it's rather weak

i assume your a mage with such unit combination and playing on easy or normal

you have way too many high leadership creatures in your stack

and furthermore they are all pretty slow

and for an all in animal army
i would suggest

werewolf elves
evil beholders
polar bears
devil fishes(their fear attack can do wonders)
royal snakes

but a another bear would also do fine i gues

or fire spiders with spider army if u get the double rings

but either way you gonna have a hard time
animals have low hp
and don't do alot of damage

only evil beholders are worth mentioning due to their special abilities

hypnotise and sleeping gaze

Thanks for the reply Razorflame

I have been reading your guide and I restarted, currently back at lvl 10, army consists of:
Bowman, Alchemist, Horseman, Cannoneer and Evil Beholder

But I actually ran out of Horsemen some time ago, kinda cheating with those, haven't found a unit to replace them with.
Out of cannoneers as well now, need things to replace them with, managed to open the Creiston mines, but can't attack the castle yet.

@Razorflame: A stupid question perhaps, but where is the strategy guide located? (Then again, I may leave it unread. Lately I've too often spoiled my fun by reading guides and spoilers of the games.)

that attack should be easy
switch bowmen they are the worst achers in game(due to high leadership and low damage)

i would replace them with inqisitors if u have found them(they can ressurect dead stack once in battle)

and if your low on horseman i would swap them with a big stack of royal snakes

alchemist ain'that good for the fight but heck i use them on that battle too

unles i find canonneers on the eastern islands

I cleared everything, but haven't found any Inquisitors, nor have I found any decent defense spells or ressurect.
Royal snakes die very fast, but guess I have no other option, maybe Guardsmen ?
I have both cannoneers and alchs, best archerunits I found so far and the evil beholders, don't have alot of other options. Though I ran out of cannoneers as well.

I do have another question, I've been using the savegame scanner, and it's nice, but how can I see what I missed and where it actually is, like buried treasure and stuff, there's no explanation for the result of the scan.
Does the scan show me what is left in the game, or does it show me everything, including the things I already used/took ?

i don't know about the save scanner

but royal snakes dying fast?!?! you must be doing something wrong then

they got no retaliation which is very nice ^^

guardsman are bad

else you could try griffins
unlimited retaliation

They have pretty low hp and I try to let my tank take all the damage, though I only have Stone Skin for defence

If I could reach Duke Sov without much losses I would've been using them long ago
---

I usually go for the archers first, then start picking off the melee enemies, but most of the units are fast, so by the time the archers are dead, they have reached my side of the grid.
