Default star wolf 2 can't start

I bought this game in steam, the 1&3 both run fine.

somehow the 2nd wont start at all and read as still download even
though it reach 99% and all file check shows complet.

I thought it's steam's problem, but their support only give me crap reply,
and now it want me to ask 3rd party tech-support.

so please give me some insight, or tell me how to deal with steam?

Have you tried re-logging to Steam?

The last resort'd be to right-click the game in the Library and delete local files, and then re-download it.
Dunno what's the real problem since mine works fine, all three of 'em.

thx for ur reply, but I've tried things like like.

also I've had another few more letter with steam.
somehow they are repeating their answer...again,
as if they are replied by some sort of machine....

it's pretty upsetting to be not able to play this game...
because I love 1&3 both, this is an amazing game..

I've read somewhere that 3rd party executable can help. I know it's not a perfect solution but if don't have other options...

@laslin
Try logging off Steam, turn off your antivirus real time protection, log on to Steam again, delete Star Wolves 2 local files, and then download again.
Start the game without turning on the antivirus.

Sometimes the antivirus heuristics may block legitimate programs; heck, even McAfee and Kaspersky have been known to deleting critical Windows files, thinking they're virus.

yes..I've tried the reinstall thingy, also the turn off firewall/antivirus too

they won't work, and the steam file check shows the file are 100%
correct,yet it simply wont run.

Damn, that's so screwed up. =/

Was there any error messages?
Or when you started it, it simply just wouldn't show anything?

nope,no error message,at least not from the game or my system,
actually there's a steam message showing "the game is currently unavailable"
which is why I think it's all steam's fault..

I just tested running Star Wolves 2 and everything's fine.
Maybe Steam's authentication server for your region is acting up...dunno.
You don't have anything like PeerBlock or PeerGuardian running in the background, right?

yep,Im only using microsoft essensial security,
and I've tried turn it down when testing.

I do think that steam must screw this up.
but they only give me the repeating answer which
can be found in the trouble shooting FAQ ,
I wish they could do a check from their side....

any idea how to do it?
