Missing effects - looking for possible reasons? Exhaust flame and vanishing contrails
Without the usual "because it's broke" shenanigans I'm wondering if anyone has an idea why I am not seeing effects that others have?
I have not yet seen any exhaust stack 'Blue' flames when taking off or at altitude (in sunrise or sunset). Also my latest test at altitude (using FMB) showed contrails streaming across the sky. When I played back the track, all contrails had vanished even though I was at 7000-7500m. Is there a setting (with the exhausts primarily) that get the stacks showing flame (like CEM settings?) and secondly has anyone else had the disappearing contrails? Cheers, MP

i think that tracks are buggy, which may well be why you can't see the contrails in the tracks, as to the exhaust flames, i don't know why you can't see them

I see exhaust flames and contrails on my own aircraft, but no contrails on other aircraft. I'm not sure about exhaust flames.

Hi MP
Not sure if this will help, but I see both. I was doing some high altitude testing recently using the ‘Free flight’ option with the BF109 and Spit, and both displayed contrails somewhere above 20 000 feet and I could see the exhaust flames. The 109’s exhaust flames were yellow/blue when it topped out at 7000 metres, while the Spit’s were still blue. Strangely, the Spit took less effort to get to 25 000 feet and felt like it could still get a bit higher, while I struggled a bit to get the 109 to 7000 metres with constant pitch and throttle adjustment. I would think that this is a replay issue as I don’t recall seeing exhaust flames in any of the pre-recorded tracks.
