"The Backstab" Mission problem

Hi all,

Great game, as was BE5, and loving it so far with the BSM mod and the unofficial patch. I'm currently game level 6 and ran into a problem ending "The Backstab" mission for Willi Krauf. So, I leave me existing car in the main town and talk to Entonio after receiving the color flag and all that and off I go to Calli-Cantos or whatever. I get ambushed down below next to the town and I win the battle vs. bandits. However, that's it. I'm reading about a bomb or something and after speaking to Entonio, the only guy there, he just says, 'What the hell do you want?'. I move on to the town and the truck is there and I explore the town looking for Willi, but only Entonio is there with the same response. I can't seem to end this mission. I have a full team of 6 members (ME, Vermin, Spartan, Miguel (otw to prison mission next), Paquito, and Hawk). I've even tried reloading the mission from the beginning and taking a different route, but I get different 'ambushes' but never one where there is this supposed bomb and I need to defuse it. I can't even use the truck in any of the maps either. Any ideas or am I alone?

Willi does actually say theres a bomb on the truck (If thats where you are stuck)

The bomb is on the truck right next to you and Willi, you need to know the correct order of wires to cut. HINT : flag

MOve your cursor over the truck and the 'I can use this' icon appears.

If thats not where you are stuck then escort the truck a bit further and some army guys intercept you , you can bribe them, or fight them. I suggest bribe because teh fight is next to impossible and you still make a lot of cash even if you bribe them.

If its even after that you are stuck then you must wait for the truck to arrive in cali cantos. But I recommend not leaving the truck you have to escort at all, stay with it on the world map.

Make sure you dont lose sight of the truck that you are to escort while on the world map and you will be OK. You can actually click on the truck that you need to escort in some way and you will follow it very closely, thats the best way to do that mission so that you dont miss any encounters.

The problem is that Willi is no where in the encounter. It just seems like a random ambush every time even though there's the Elizario Martinez there running around as a neutral NPC. Let me ask you, my team is full already when I take the mission. Was someone supposed to be able to join my team to have the mission work right?

Again, I accept the mission, I go with truck down to the town Cali-Cantinos and get ambushed by random bandits. I win and nothing happens and continue to town with nothing happening. In town Elizario Martinez is there by himself and say, 'What the hell do you want?' only. No Willi, no driver, no one else.

Ahhh! Thanks for the edited reply and I bet that's the problem! I totally just zipped along with the truck and bypassed the entire convoy. For whatever reason I didn't think they would be separate from me. Now I know what to look for and I bet that fixes it. Thanks again!

Another slight hitch is, when Willi finally gives you the truck in Cali C, all its contents are deleted. I had to hurry on the final few hours of the trip to arrive before Willi and unload/sell everything.

And in case you didn't know, you can also click on Willis car on the overland map to make your car follow it automatically.
