Default New here, but have some pictures for you guys....

Hi, just picked up the game, (Greensboro, North Carolina), got the last copy. Anyway, this is my first flight game ever. Needed to try something new. I have a keen interest in anything related to WW2. So looking forward to giving this a go.

Anyway, i went to an airshow last weekend, and thought this would be a good place to share. I only was there for an hour or so, my two year old was getting sleepy, and she thought the planes were loud.

Enjoy.

Great photos thanks for sharing!

I do have one question though. How did you manage to get pictures of a flying Sea Harrier F/A.2 in 2009 when the last examples were retired from Royal Navy service in 2006? Is there a flying example on the civilian airshow circuit that I'm not aware of?

Civi aircraft museums regularly purchase former front line aircraft for display purposes. And iirc a couple of those were also ordered by the US navy but I dont know if they were ever actually sold any. Im am surpised to see the Blackjack in there, I thought the US military were still wary of showing them for classified material reason.

Welcome to the forum

Nice photos. About pic 15 and 16, I'm really glad (and jeolous) that at least people in Greensboro can still get to see the Sea Harrier FA2 fly. Awesome bird, its been one of my favourite jets since I was little, The big McDonnell Douglas attack harriers just arn't the same. I'm still angry that the RN got rid of their FA2's. Also GR.9's pretty much suck at fleet defence which was the sea harriers forte. The RN would be pretty stuffed if something really bad happened before they got the new carriers and the F35 fighter.

The sea harrier was from Art Nalls Aviation.

The webpage for the show is http://www.wsairshow.com/

We might not even be getting the F35. According to reports, the planes are only contracted to fly in UK territorial waters iirc. There was a gag on the Rory Bremner show about it a while back. They also had to redesign the carriers deck because the F35 would have burned through the original design deck while in VTOL.

Thats why canada ordered just the B version, which is Arrester hook/ fold up wings all the necessities for landing on a carrier. Even though we don't have those...
