Default Error when loading game (R6034)

Hi,

I got this game today and I seem to be having some errors when it is loading.
The game loads onto the title\menu screens ok but when I try to start a new game or continue it throws up the error:

Quote:
R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library
incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
If I react quickly and hit enter, I can still get the game to load and play it. But I then get some flickering on screen with various items from the windows desktop appearing such as icons or the clock from the taskbar.

I saw another post (in french) that seemed to be talking about this error and from what I can make out, this was a bug that was fixed in the 1.01 russian version of the game. I am using an english (UK I suppose) version of the game but I'm not sure if the version I have can be updated just now. I can't see a version number when in the game but when I click on the cryostasis.exe and look at its properties, I see the following:

File version ; 1.0.0.1
Product version 1.0

Is it possible to use the russian patch with my version or are the two completely incompatible?

Any other help with this error would be appreciated.

My system details are:

Vista Home Premium
AMD Phenom 9600 quad core 2.31GHz
2GB ram
Nvidia 8800GT with latest driver 182.08
Soundblaster XFI

Thanks
