 For those interested in WWI There is a new WWI server Heres how it works I have taken the campaign concept created by JTMF and applied it to a FBD dedicated dog fight server on hyper lobby Inspired by the skin work and campaign concept of "Bloody April" by "JTFM" J.F. Miller with his blessing The Guts and Glory Server presents The Air Battle of St. Mihiel (Mission author -=FA=-RaVen) In the words of JTFM: " classified as a faux World War 1 Mission because. Obviously Forgotten Battles is a World War II simulation that does not contain World War 1 airplanes. The means of overcoming this, and the heart of the Mission is the prodigious use of WW1 skins. When applied to several airplanes already contained within Forgotten Battles, and with the player suspending a certain amount of reality, these skins enable World War 1 to come to life within the confines of a World War II simulation, thus providing the player an exciting return to the seminal years of aerial warfare. Planes used and represented WW1 airplane skins transform the [J8A,] [CR-42 ] [I-153] [P11c,] and [TB-3] into the Albatross D.II/III, Sopwith Pup, SPAD VII, SE5, Martinsyde G.100, Nieuport XVII, Morane Saulnier, BE2c/d/e/f/g, RE8, Sopwith One-and-a-half-Strutter, Albatross C.III, Gotha G.IV, and HP 0/100. All skins were meticulously researched to represent these airplanes as they appeared in April, 1917. Skins include planes from Jastas 2/5/11/30 and KGIII; RFC Nos. 1/3/3N/9/13/16/19/27/34/43/52/ 56/59/60/66 Squadrons; Aviation Militaire N3 and SPA124 Lafayette Escadrille. Skinned ace airplanes include Manfred von Richthofen, Lothar von Richthofen, Kurt Wolff, Karl Emil Schäfer, Karl Allmenröder, Werner Voss, Hermann Frommherz, Joachim von Bertrab, Adolf von Tutshek, Hans Berr, Heinrich Gontermann, Albert Ball, Billy Bishop, John Andrews, Lloyd Breadner, Edmund Pierce, Raoul Lufbery, René Dorme, Paul Tarascon, Georges Guynemer, and many others. All so a complete set of Flyboys JA skins by TripleA007. (very nice work as well) plane sets are evenly matched Dependant on map, its more pilot skill against pilot skill . IE there would not be a I-153 on a map were there are Cr_42 and Ja's . ect Plane sets are balanced no uber out of balance stuff going on here skill on skill it the concept here. The difficulty settings only mini and speed bar are available no icons ,no external. This is dog fighters heaven you need to Id, then hunt the enemy this this is were the skins shine. The feed back has been just great, its very immerse. New maps also in rotation are The Eastern fronts, one and two. and The Ammunition depot raid WHAT THIS MEANS IS: YOU NEED TO GO GET THE SKINS TO PLAY ON THIS SERVER. There is a net cache file that if used will totally eliminating any skin load lag on the server. Please see details on web site. WWI Skins DOWNLOAD HERE As most of the aircraft are the same on both sides the only way to differentiate is to Id the markings and skins. This adds a terrific amount of immersion the the mission. How is this flyable on a full switch server without externals?

Congratulations.... The online play of this Sim is trashed. I helped... I'm sorry  SERVER ANNOUNCEMENT: Guts and Glory server is going to reset back to checkruntime=2 Map/plane sets will be from WWI -late war rotating 24/7 We As mod supporters in the community have ruined this Sim. I call for a boycott of any server that allows mods. Any server admins that are, please.... Don't bother responding to this post here. If any want a quality Honest/clean server: Guts and Glory server is going to reset back to checkruntime=2 with a rotating map/plane set from WWI to late war. No mods allowed. Get the WWI /WW2 skins here www.ravenskins.com I have been throughly testing the mod's since they came out. I recorded track after track flew on server after server.. saw no problems at all... till now... At first I was totally against the mod's concept . Then after allot of testing and flying on servers I found it a great improvement to the sim.. I was mad at Olag for not making these, what I thought were simple changes. I promoted the use of the mods as I saw absolutely no FM changes to the Sim . Yes.. I helped too, I'm sorry :-[ I stated I would support and use the mod until the point of seeing anomolies.. As may of you know I have been with this Sim since day one. I fly 3-4 hrs a day 7 days a week.. I may stink.. but I know what the normal feel of the Sim is, and what is out of the ordinary... I know the deference between a lag warp a, speed cheat,a print screen, ect.. Point is, I am seeing all kinds of really odd things happening on line now. My moves that would normally defeat an enemy aircrafts energy state. Now do nothing to change it. They just climb out of a stalled turn like they were going 500kl very odd pulsating warps (not print screening) No sound of engine or gun fire. It goes on and on just To much to list here. some could be deliberate some of the reason could just be small conflict issues. between guys ruining no mods as well as guys running different kinds of mods. there are just so many versions out there now. BTW.. its not lag or my PC. I run a quad core super hot box with lodes of high end ram and a huge power supply, vidocard etc. I also pay for business class Internet speed with a crazy gaming router. I can understand wanting to use these in bombers, making them really cool to fly in the cock pit etc. I my self added a u2V mod to my silly WWI server so guys could fly it.... But its a really bad idea! Ive tested and now I know better. I have seen the error of my ways. Those that don't see the changes occurring ,are either in denial or blind... Sad part is Its to late to stop it now. The Sim has gone down the road of so many other Sims like CFS Rainbow six etc . Sad, as the best thing about this Sim was the quality of the File security... it was an honest sim.. Again I recommend boycotting any server thats allows the Mods. I will be turning the Guts and Glory server to a rotating map set of WWI to late war plane Set with check time 2 It will be a pure honest clean server for any that wish a clean arena to fly in This mod Is bad.. it has destroyed the on line experience in many servers Its time for 4.09 to kill it.
