Multiplayer?

Will this game have multiplayer? And I don't mean like skirmish battle type multiplayer but full multiplayer? If it isn't then I have to ask what is the point of me buying this game if I know I'll just go back and play Freelancer?

Edit: I mean no offense to your hard work but really I have to ask.

The game will have multiplayer mode.

Interesting what kind of multiplayer instanced base(IE battlefield series and Freespace) or will it be more along the lines of say Freelancer?'
