Arrow DEVS give first infos about the Sequel

Here are the first infos post by devs about the sequel. Following the idea of a "respawn off" option or "Wave mode"
http://forum.yuplay.com/index.php?sh...=508&#entry508

It already seems that great improvements will be made on the online experience, making already this sequel a must have

Here is an idea that has received some supportz on the other 1C Forum

A "respawn off" option or a "Wave mode" for TEAM BATLLE where the team get 1 point when they shot down all the planes of the other team. And then the game starts a second wave. (like counterstrike).
QUOTE (Todace)
So, it looks like time for more details about sequel came.

In sequel we'll focus on online experience. That means lots of different things.
Some of details (lots of but not all of them) will be opened in Novemeber.
But, even without results of this poll - respawn system will be changed for sure. As well as team systems, amount of maximum players, matchmaking systems, ranks, gameplay modes and types.
So there will be so many changes that it is not even relevant poll
I even cannot just write about on what challenges and problems we are focused now.
We want to make next-gen air war online. And we won't forget about all of you who likes singleplayer experience.

PS
This is not thread to discuss sequel. I just want to tell you guys, that we understand porblems about BoP's multiplayer. But all of them cannot be changed by updates, just because it will be a new game in fact and updates on consoles are limited in fact.

Well but with those sales (see the link hereafter) I'm still wondering if they will get the finance to make/finish the sequel

I hope so though

Can't see me plonking down money for a sequel unless they can sort out co-op play vs AI planes. I find myself increasingly uninterested in competitive multiplayer.

I wonder what they men by "In sequel we'll focus on online experience." I hope that doesn't mean no/limited single player campaign. On line's fun but I like single player a lot too. Hopefully they just mean they're gonna fix the problems.

Todace mentioned they won't forget about people who enjoy the SP experience.

Great! Because I usually only play single player.
Hopefully a strong single player mode will continue to be an important part of this great game.

Im not sure exactly what I am looking at with those links, but if I go in row 1 of xbox sales its looks like almost 40,000 units and ps3 sales also looks like 40,000 units so roughly 80,000 units x $49.99 = $4,000,000.00

Four million bucks on a game that probably barely cost a half million to make given that the game engine and base models were already in place...id say they made a profit and gave them a platform to build on for a sequel. If they fix all of the multiplayer problems and actually market the game I would say we are in for a nice golden age of console simming!

180,000 combined sales over 3 weeks is not that bad for a niche game. Eidos green lighted Battlestations Pacific after Battlestations Midway sold what they said was a very good 50,000 copies.

All a IL sequel needs is a decent marketing budget. Most people have not even heard of this game.

Wonder if they can do an extensive "add on" pack to the original game? That would get them around the patch size limit, they could charge a bit for it, and roll into it all the changes they were looking to make along with some additions. They have a great base game now (like COD has) so improving on it shouldn't take as much time or money I'd imagine.
