Default Please Help: Theatre of War 1, Steam Version

Hi Everyone,

I have long loved TOW1. I have played it since it first came out. In fact I played it so much that my DVD cracked and SNEAKSIE recommended, at the time, I purchase the game from Steam.

I tried to play the today only to find the Steam version will no longer load. I go into Steam/Library and click play game. It goes to a black screen with the TOW pointer but then immediately flicks back to the Steam page. I can open and work with the editors, etc., but cannot get into the game itself.

This is my favorite game and I'm really hoping someone will be able to help me. I have googled half the night away to no avail and am pretty desperate.

Also, I have the Amazon download version of this game, too. This version will load, it will allow me to play, but since it does not have the uber patch, nor do I know how to get it for this version, I cannot play a single campaign that I myself made which negates me wanting to use this version.

Please help and thanks for your time!

Hi Sneaksie,

I gave up waiting for help. I purchased my last copy at Battlefront via download. This if the 4th time I have purchased the game through no fault of my own. First the DVD wore out and cracked, then Amazon gave a download that could not be patched, then I bought the Steam version which stopped working and finally I bought the Battlefront one. 1C and it's publishers made plenty of money off of me on TOW 1.
