Default CLOD will it ever get off the ground!

Well fellow flight sim faithfulls.

Here we are a year later and we are still patiently waiting for our beloved Cliffs Of Dover to work properly as it promised so much it would do.
I don't need to go through the exhaustive list of all the problems within the game but you would have thought by now they would have sorted it!!

If money and development is a problem why dont they take a leaf out of the Rise Of Flight boys book and genuinely offer their hard work as add on's?

I'm sure if we have waited this long for the game to show its potential we would all be prepared to cough up a few more quid rather than the rumoured totall new game/title thats being mentioned and be expected to pay for it all over again!!

We have a lot to thank Oleg for for his original conception of the IL-2 series and how it has totally re-shaped the look and feel of aerial combat.

However, in my view comparing the original to CLOD its a bit like producing an electric powered Ferrari!!. It still looks good but does not deliver!! Whats the point???

Agree with ya OP.
Sometimes it seems like this will never be more than an online airquake.
But hey, just two weeks right?
Lol!

Yes some of us can still get some enjoyment out of playing online despite the constant CTD issue as the main bugbear.

It would be nice if this game was more complete/bug free so that it would gain a larger following/could be recommended to new players without so many buts. Still, I have a blast playing this even just cruising alone offline.

The modelling of the engine and flight characteristics is just unparalleled.

Hmmmm.......well it obviousley isn't!!

So really, doesn't that make it even worse that all that supposed back up and resources still leaves a ground breaking game game broken after over a year with very little updates or fixes

Not sure what to make of it all my friend.

I genuinley feel sorry for Oleg hear as i am sure he would not have wanted to see his sequal falter in such a way.

Oh well I guess us mere cash paying public will have to accept it for the time being a bit like the shambles the economy is in in the UK at the moment

Qualified human resources are limited in Russia. B6 mentioned that they are constantly looking for people and can hardly find enough capable in flight sim development. That is why it took so long to develop and patch.

Maybe the team should move to India or China but it is not a realistic scenario.
