Exclamation Men of War: Red Tide Announced

1C Company today announced the development of the stand-alone expansion to its critically acclaimed RTS Men of War.

Men of War: Red Tide introduces a new story driven campaign based on the writings of Soviet scribe Alexander Zorich and it also includes dozens of new or upgraded units and weapons.

Men of War: Red Tide
is a stunning mixture of RTS and a third-person action that introduces a new fighting force renowned for its brutal efficiency during the height of World War II. Played out across more than 20 missions, Men of War: Red Tide has players take command of the feared "Black Coats", the nickname given to Soviet Marines, an elite combat group specializing in engagements near the shoreline. The player has direct control of new game units including the Black Coats, new tanks, self-propelled guns, armored trains, landing craft, artillery and new enemy emplaced weapons to capture and use. New air support options include new fighters, bombers, hydroplanes; cruisers, destroyers and gun boats which provide naval fire support.

Fighting during the Black Sea Campaigns of WWII, history buffs and WWII aficionados will recognize theaters of battle such as Odessa, Sevastopol, Theodosia, Eltingen, Nikolaev and Constanta.

Men of War: Red Tide will not require the original Men of War to play.

The game will be available at North American retail outlets and for digital download this fall.

Italians and Romanians? Nice addition Looking forward to this

Will we continue to see more single player expansions for MoW or will there eventually be a MoW 2 (or atleast another full game rather than a modification) to combine the new features/units/factions? Hopefully along with a decent skirmish mode?

We, the fans of Men of War are really blessed. We await Red Tide and an expansion pack from DMS soon which will hopefully have a skirmish mode. In addition there is the Japanese pack to look forward too.

Wow, three things to look forward and all pretty soon, maybe all this year.

Japanese will be added in the next patch. Other great "expansion" will be the mod called SOE 2 (Storm over Europe 2).

Hmm, what exactly gave you that idea?
I actually live in Australia, just like the notion of more factions/campaigns to play.

"Storm over Europe 2 is coming to your PC in 2008, released at the same time with retail Men of War."
I'll admit i haven't been following the news for SOE2, but from the looks of that thread...They are already 1 year behind schedule, so i think i won't bother holding my breath..

Grats on the Announcement!

I've been following this expansion for a while, but i got some questions still unanswered which i hoped to get answered here:

Will this expansion get released in stores in Europe (Sweden) or just digitally?

Is it compatible with MoW? Can you for example use the things from MoW and this expansion in the GEM editor at once?

Thanks in advance

I also second that on the skirmish mode.If it has skirmish mode included I will definitely will pick this one up.I never have played multilayer, and probably never will.My skill level is probably no where close to the players who play online,so I just chose to stay away, and not upset the poor sole who might catch me as a teammate.
