Just purchased Star Wolves I and II through Steam, major error in the game
Hello,
No matter what I do, my ships will not actually hit the enemies during combat, not even the stationary drones during the tutorial. I hear my guns firing from all my ships, but no tracers appear in the screen and the enemies are undamaged no matter how long I let it run. They are unable to hit me as well. Thank you, Dave |

Upon further experimentation, it appears that I can hit the enemies with missiles, but nothing else. All of my ships have appropriate weaponry enabled, so that should not be the problem.

eh, i have the game on steam as wel and encountered this as well
when you validate star wolves 1 youl see that 1 file is missing but strangly enough when you load the game and load your profile the bug is there again (and the file gone again) i reinstalled the game and it worked for me despide me been a starwolve lover, i loved 1, but 2 just well basicly sucks, cause the game has ends out of nowhere (story) i tried to find some guides on the web but did not find any, so if anyone can help me with that (i picked the pirate path) and ofc there more strange bugs wich for some reason is still not fixed. i love the game but star wolves 2 has more bugs then 1 :s so i hope 3 is better |

I decided to try Star Wolves 2 instead since 1 was giving me such problems
Haven't had any problems yet with 2. Even in the tutorial, my ship can attack just fine. I will have to check the validation problem with Steam.

Same problem here!
Just bought Star Wolves 1 - 3 on Steam and in 1 my Ships cant fire, only yellow spots appear (muzzle flashes) and dont go away ever. Ships dance arround each other, no one gets hurt, game is broken. I also have that one file that allways disapears but you guys seem to be a little further then me here, i put a ticket on Steam also. Also i have strange thin lines in space... looks like some leftover from the development tools. some screens of it: http://www.imagebanana.com/img/soxxq...2613561215.jpg http://www.imagebanana.com/img/rmj0z...2613555091.jpg http://www.imagebanana.com/img/1oos2...2613540461.jpg http://www.imagebanana.com/img/em4iw...2612490567.jpg http://www.imagebanana.com/img/s1gmd...2612485249.jpg Star Wolves 2 works fine i think (i can shoot at stuff and it takes damage in tutorial). 3 is not yet released, as expected, but it is listed as installed and i cant delete the fake entry. ye create a support ticket
and one for the star wolves 3 issue (did it as well) rest is the same issue as me. but vertifie the files from starwolves 2 and you see that alot are missing as well (31 by me) and secondly starwolves 2 has a very strange end |

There was a post by the devs that says star wolves doesnt work with Windows 7, but Z3R0B4NG says Windows 7 x64 in his post.
Anyone knows if it works or not in Win 7 64? |

the game it self runs without a problem (beside the star wolves own bugs)
but for some reason files (from the directory) are been removed i think this is a pure steam problem but i cannot say for 100% and then again windows 7 should make it posible to run it in windows xp? so that should fix that problem? |

using Windows 7 Ultimate x64, UAC is not active, Admin Account and no XP compatibility stuff active, Star Wolves 1 and 2 run just fine...
besides that gamebreaking bug that my ships dont fire in Star Wolve 1. Dont know maybe they did mean the CD version because of Starforce or something and Steam doesn't have that protection anymore? *just guessing* |
