When to go to Demonis?

I'm unsure where I'm meant to go in my current playthrough.

I've cleared Greenwort and killed the necromancer and got the staff. I also did some exploring of the Eastern and Western Islands and have access to the elven lands.

My question is, I'm level 34, am I supposed to clear Demonis, or should I go clear all the islands I have access too first? I'm not sure what the recommended order is.

You can go anytime you want, well after you delivered heart and staff that is. If the fights are too tough for you come back later.

I cleared all of the islands before go to Demonis except dead men chest and I take many level.
When I went to Demonis, a lot off enemies were very weak . I think the strong enemy at demonis is the dragon. And It isn't so hard

Another question: Will I be able to exchange runes of one type for runes of another type at any point in the game? I have way too much Mind Runes for example

i want to add another question here, i heard some area repopulated after some main quest events, i want to know what area will be repopulated, so i can clear them first.
