change resolution

i played the game for a while and it worked good on my computer, but after a few days it got a message that my screen was out of range, it happened when i installed a very old game on nmy computer. I already tried to change my refresh rate, I reinstalled my drivers but nothing works, when i got that message the first time the game was still on the default resolution and i could still see a little bit. when i upped the resolution a bit i couldn't see anything anyore, so my question is, what is the keyboard combination to lower my resolution?
