Default Embarrasing question re: Coolie hat

Stupid question of the day:

How do I enable pan view for the coolie hat (Saitek AV8R)?
I read the manual but am sadly too dense to comprehend...

erm..

Go to options control page, select pan view in the dropdown category box.

And bind your coolie hat directions to the pan views?

edit: in my case these were already bound from the start. along with some keyboard binds.

I could fix this situation myself. The default joystick binding was numbered differently than my primary joystick. I did not realise this, hehe.

So I set the coolie bindings manually. Maybe helpful for someone else seeing the bindings and wondering why the coolie does not work.

Actually I make it a habit with all my flightsims to delete every bind and rebind them.

Because we are using so many peripherals these days, things are bound to be setup incorrectly straight out of the box.
