Default Engine damage in arcade

Does engine damage reduce performance in Arcade mode? It's the only explanation I can think for why I can outrun the same model of plane in one circumstance and lose distance in another with same rate of climb, etc.

Default ?

Hmmm. Some folks seem to be getting their Spitfires going faster than others, wondering what the trick might be.

Faster speed or turning circle? You can get a much tighter turn by pumping the throttle
