Default Men of War: AA becomes unresponsive/freezes on splash screen

Just yesterday this game ran fine.

Today I attempted to start it up and it freezes at the splash screen (black screen where it says "Men of War Assault Squad" in big silver block letters). I can alt tab and end the process or end the task but no matter what I do, I can't get past that screen now.

I have tried verifying the game cache in Steam.
I have tried uninstalling, restarting my PC, and reinstalling the game.
I have tried deleting the folder in the My Documents folder.
I have reinstalled the latest graphic card drivers.
I have attempted to reinstall DirectX but since this is Windows 7, DirectX11 is already built in. I did attempt to reinstall Direct X 9.0c but was told my files are up to date.

Is there anything else I can do to get this game working again?

Hard to say but you can try going to:

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\My Games\men of war - assault squad\ folder and there you can delete shader_cache folder, and profiles(suggest to backup profiles in case) and then try running the game as it will start with all defaults in case something you changed in options like video etc causing the problem.
