That debate is about SLI/CROSSFIRE not working due to the filter (april fools day anyone?) I dont think there where anything said anywhere that it would effect ALL systems.

I think that the developer team themselves admitted that it is affecting the performance on all computers. The filter works in a way that it compares a frame to the next, and if there is too much difference in brightness it will lower the difference. Obiously this kind of processing will eat cpu, as well as they had to remove also some nice VFX they had done such as the strobe of the propeller spinning fast seen from the inside of the plane.

Well, if you couldn't run this game properly then I don't know what would I do with it with my spec (and perhaps many other too) ... But I'll still give it a go.

Maybe I will buy it later when these issues have been fixed and/or after reading some positive reviews of the game.

Before canceling the game, if someone could comment on the possible playability of CoD with the specs I have in my computer?

Gigabyte motherboard (cannot remember which)
12GB Ram
Win-7 64bit
Intel Core i7 Quad 920 2.66GHz processor
Asus Ati Radeon 5850 1GB DX 11 graphics card

Why the hell you do you have 12 gb of ram? 4 gb is more than enough. As long as you have free memory while playing a game. I run rise of flight with 4 gb of ram. And I have 1,5 gb free memory when I play it. I use win 7 32 bits, wich means allso it can just read 3,6 gb of my 4 gb memory.
People with little knowledge of computers is getting lured by the companies. You have absolutely no need for 12 gb of memory. Maybe if you run virtual servers + 2 or 3 heavy programs on your computer at the same time

I use this computer in my music studio and I run these programs that require a lot of RAM. That's why 12GB.

What music program is that? I run a lot of music programs myself. Reaper is one of them and with lot of plugins such as Superior drummer and a bunch of vst plugins it can suck up to 2 gb, but still I have enough free ram. I allso use Sony vegas for video editing and i use windows server sometimes. I never need more than 4 gb of ram.

I don't necessary use all of the 12gb RAM, but once you start to use large sample libraries stacked next to each other and add up tracks, you will need lots of RAM. I want to be able handle a project with 128 tracks if I need to (I have never used so many), but I like the idea that I can do it if I want, so better to load up your system with memory. And RAM is so cheap these days..

I'm tweaking my New Rig plan/design. I've penciled in a Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost), and a GTX 580 or the newest GTX590 (Dual) card.

Any thoughts/advice?

------

It was mentioned in an earlier post that Windows 7/32bit will only access 3.6GB of RAM. Is that correct?
I have been thinking of going with Windows 7/64bit, with CORSAIR DOMINATOR 8GB (2 x 4GB) or G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB). [All I've read agrees that more than 8GB is a total waste]
My question now is: Will Windows7/64Bit access all of that 8GB RAM?
