Can someone tell me how to dock as well here its just I suspect its a bug I only bought the game 30 mins ago and It wont dock at all, none of the reviews mentioned any of these problems and Im getting worried Ive bought a steaming pile of crap, please advise? (I should have learned from the last russian developed game I bought but If Im duped this time I will learn, some carry on less than 5 mins into the game and I cant get any further + absolutely crap voice acting, I seriously need to start reviewing games because I sometimes wander if they are reviewing objectively at all)

Sometimes the mothership doesn't want to dock - you could try to move the mothership away from the station and reinitiate the docking procedures. It seems certain angles are difficult for the pathfinding AI.

Whoah! It must have been at LEAST 10 months ago I had serious issues with the game? However is there still no patch?? Its just I am considering rebuying only when a patch comes out / IF a patch comes out
Just to clarify - Baiscally if you own an EU version/english then no effort has been made to patch the game, btw thanks for the information about using tab; I dont own sw2 anymore but would have reconsidered it had I seen paches up Last edited by calnon; 02-17-2009 at 04:40 PM. |

Another bug: In my last game I was tasked with delivering the decoded Alien transmissions to Kron Mank in the Trour system. In the meantime I picked up a Job quest that involved the same person, except in a different system. I was able to complete the first quest after finishing the second one.
Afterward, however, I kept receiving each subsequent quest twice. I.e. I had to complete each story- and job-related quest twice in a row before it got cleared from the quest log and before I was allowed to continue with the story. This was annoying but not a big deal until I got to the Email Spammers quest. The game only let me complete this quest once instead of required twice, and as a result the next quest (i.e. rendezvous with Astra in the Tarnred system) would fail to start. I am now stuck and unable to continue the game. I've experienced the other bugs mentioned in this thread, as well. Last edited by SharkD; 02-17-2009 at 05:48 PM. |

The first Star Wolves was entertaining enough and so far the second one hasn't been bad at all, despite it's crashing all the time.
I would so much like to be able to play this game through. Unfortunately it seems impossible. In mission 2-13 when either one of the Angorian frigates explodes, the game freezes. Ive tried a dozen or two different approaches to this but it happens _every time_. I even took a look at the scripts to see if I could change something to make it work, but since the problem propably is in an event the game calls at that point, there's nothing to be done. I also started the game all over from beginning to see if it makes any difference. It doesn't. I've no complaints about slowdowns, the horrible voice acting or path finding problems of the ships. But if the game is actually unplayable, that's just unacceptable and totally unprofessional of the company. |

Well I have to tell you guys - I'm baffled by this game...
It came as a packaged deal from Steam - Pre-order Star Wolves 3 and get the first two... I thought what the heck why not, three games for the price of one. Maybe it's just the Steam versions or maybe it's because of Win7 but so far both Star Wolves 1 and 2 have been totally unplayable. First thing I noticed - on Star Wolves 1 - during the tutorial. You're asked to attack 6 drones to practice combat, ok fine. Right click on the target and start attacking... and attacking... and attacking... not actually doing any damage. I turn on missles and expend my complement of rockets on them, destroying 2 in the process. Back to using guns and not hitting anything. I literally left the fighters attacking the targets, walked away, watched TV for 30 minutes, came back and they were still attacking the same bloody thing... WITHOUT CAUSING ANY DAMAGE! Having given up on Star Wolves 1 for this reason, I tried the sequel expecting the developers to have signifigantly improved the game. WRONG! Same problem... flying around shooting at enemies and not hitting anything. Only this time, the beams from the laser cannon or whatever stay on the screen. After about 5 minutes my ship looks like a mini sun with thousands of tiny yellow lines coming out of it. I said these two games were free when pre-ordering Star Wolves 3 on Steam. But having played these first two and seeing the issues in the first 5 minutes I'm terrified that the 3rd will be just as bad, if not worse. Has anyone else had these kind of dumb issues with this game? Maybe I'm just incompetent and not playing it correctly. I almost wish it had the crashes or slowdowns that others have posted about... At least the game might play somewhat normally until it crashed. I could deal with that but this is just rediculous. I don't normally post about games on forums but there wasn't any way I could pass on this one. Also funny to see a developer only release patches for one version and not the others... although I have noticed that on other russian developed games. |
