Question A little disappointed...

Hi, no I'm not talking about the game here, I'm talking about the official site.

Why is the official site for the game so mediocre? It still has stuff missing like an aircraft list : "Coming soon", the "goodies" section of media has 2 wallpapers!!!? What about all the wallpapers released here of the various planes?

The news about patches was last updated April 19th....

It says in the description that wind/turbulence and advanced effects such as rain and fog is there, but frankly there's nothing of that implemented yet (yes I know clouds and wind/turbulence is implemented).

Some of this stuff should be advertised as "upcoming features" in future patches not to misguide the buyers.

The site also only brings you to the ubi site for purchase, I'd rather see a list of vendors/stores and services (such as steam) as download options. I pre-ordered it from Ubi.com even and people with steam that purchased it through steam got it before I did :p

There's nothing going on at that site and some of the info there seriously needs updating, or else people that are new to this sim will feel even more misguided than many of the guys coming to this forum to complain about the missing features and performance issues. Maybe being a little more specific at the official site will help guide the customers and give them a heads up. I notice a lot of people sometimes bring the "I've been fooled/robbed" card to the table and I think it's a shame people feel that way. Some of these people I'll bet don't even bother to come looking for these forums. Most casual gamers won't bother looking for answers even, just try to get their money back somehow, and if that fails try to "warn" others of their bad experience.

I feel kindof bad for bringing it up, because I think it's a great game and I've seen the potential that lies here, but for the sake of the games' status in the market the official site should get seriously overhauled. To be honest, it looks like someone was given the job of designing the site and did it in one day. It's utterly simple and weird in a design perspective with very little info about the game itself or anything relevant to it.

Summarized I'd say the main site fails to present the simulation and the community, and there's not even a game-review to be found there, or any third party comments on it at all. They only use their own comments such as "From the acclaimed creators of IL-2 sturmovik...... 18 planes.... battle of britain...".

I think we need some serious people to do this sim some justice and 'care' about the site. It's just written "marketing fail" all over this.

Now like I said, this is supposed to be constructive criticism directed at the marketing and official site that represents the game.

I do not have any issues with the game really as I bought a new rig 2 months ago to deal with it, and the rate at which stuff is being addressed and fixed is reassuring. I personally hope and do genuinly feel that it is moving in a steady and right direction besides minor details that I can absolutely live with. I have convinced a handful of friends to purchase and try it out, but none of these guys are forum-frequenters or people that like to venture the internet for answers to stuff so I have personally explained the pro's and con's about the sim, how it has been developed, what's happened since release and what the future may look like. Only after that they were far more interested and one of them even said "how come nothing of this is to be found on the official site?".

This is my opinion on matters regarding the official site.

What are yours?

It's pretty obvious that this game and everything connected to it are under-staffed, under-funded, under-developed, and possibly under-water.

The game was chucked into the deep end and left to sink or swim.

Well I guess Ubi knew that the game was in a dreadful state upon release, I guess its only fair that the website kind of reflects where the game is, half finished with more than a smell of BS.

Indeed, but the info about the game on the website does not reflect the games' current state!

They are absolute Turds thats what they are..

They are not advertising it fully because of the state of it which its partly if not all their fault to begin with...

I wonder how their advertisements and web pages would look if it was a fully functional success

Ubi can not get out of its own way.

Over at the Zoo the community manager released the so called latest patch notes.Only they were from several patches ago.Really not her fault as she just post what Ubi gives her.

Ubi has done nothing to promote the game and yes, their site is a joke.

At the Ubi store it still says Pre-order for d/l 5/24/11.

I think their website admin is spending too much time down at the pub.
