Default Graphic card suggestion?

I wanted to update my video card. What video card would you recommend that would work best with my computer? I realize by rig is a bit outdated, just looking for the video card that best fits what I have. Nvidia or Radeon, single monitor, no SLI needed. Something that will plug-in without other mods being needed.

Windows 7 Pro 64 bit
Asus P7H55-M-LX
Coolmax 950B 950W
Intel I7 870@2.93
4.00GB Ram
Geforce GTX 480

Thanks,

well then, I`d go for a GTX 780ti or a TITAN.

But if you have an unlimited Budget, why not buy a whole new system? Or at least Upgrading the RAM to 8GB as well?

I don't fly all that much, so don't want to spend a bunch of time building a new rig, testing, tuning, etc. My motherboard only has two slots for memory, so I'm stuck with 4GB. Just looking for a simple plug and play.

I didn't want to invest in the 780ti or Titan if my current rig would be limiting their performance. Much like putting dual quad carburetors on a 4 cylinder engine. There's only so much I can do with what I have.

Thanks,

Hi

Well, 2 Slots = 2x4GB? I can recommend the AMD 7870 for system like yours, but AMD brings problems with CloD sometimes.

As I don`t know the Nvidia-Cards that well, I suggest you have look at threads here:

Dont get ATI card for CloD, run nicely but you see weird artifacts (dashed lines) over whater/terrain.

This issue are fixed with CloD beta pach, but reintroduced with 2 last oficial patch, TF patchs improved a litle, but still.

You can "fix" it reducind landing shading, that make terrain ugly, or playing with very hight resolution ~4k.

I recently replaced my 2Gb GTX560Ti with a 2Gb GTX660Ti. Not sure about the performance improvement, seems pretty much similar but with the Nvidea 600 series cards (and higher) you get the added benefit of being able to record high quality 60fps video in game.

Tried a few ATI but Nvidea is my first choice.

One item that you need to check prior to installing a new graphics card is the power unit or PSU,as it's more commonly known, this is always overlooked by new guys.

Basically ensure that wattage of your PSU is more powerful than your praphics card

Love my GTX 670 2gb, plays CoD perfectly, and pretty cheap these days.
