error when launching red tide

I am getting this error when I launch red tide.

Exception

Not SDL file! (esdlreader.cpp, 17)

Any ideas what is causing this? Anyway to fix it without losing saved games?

Delete settings.set and try it. You won't lose your saved games, and the game settings should return to default.
