Using two GPU's
Hi everyone, I am fairly new to computer gaming of any sort. I am currently using 2 ATI 5770 cards but not in crossfire with 3 monitors. I have my center monitor on one card and my 2 outer monitors on the other card. I am not using eyefinity due to the lack of a displayport adapter that i still need to purchase. IL2 operates using 3 monitors but it just seems like I'm not getting full use out of both of my cards. Being new to computers, I don't know if I'm missing something. It just seems like my cards are operating in series rather then parallel. The only reason I say this, is I will open ati overdrive for both cards on a forth monitor to see activity. One card will max out at 100% before the 2nd card starts to show activity. Also do I need to change something in the config ini to account for 2 gpu's. Any help would be welcome.

not sure what you mean by high security alert?
sas1946.com is one of the probably top 3 sites for IL-2 along with mission4today.com, and allaircraftsimulations.com/forum Last edited by Porksmuggler; 09-10-2010 at 05:55 AM. |

My security flaged it as high risk, also want to mention that i am not using crossfire.

The other part (in the link) is that IL-2 does not use CrossFire. So even if you get the adapter to hook all 3 monitors into an eyefinity setup with CrossFire, IL-2 will not be using both GPUs. I can get CrossFire "active" in IL-2, but it doesn't improve performance. Hope all this makes sense to you |

Tests done at Simhq several years ago showed that SLI didn't work with flight sims.
However, SoW might be different (I'd still focus on CPU, RAM and hard-drive speeds) |

we have CrossFire and SLI for all the other games, the ones that are neglected because we're always playing IL-2
