Default Online resources for the BOP noob?

Hi guys

Anyone know good places to find tactics and strategy info for BOP?

I rarely get into online games but when I do I REALLY do. I usually manage to find a site containing a lot of strategy info for the game which I find helps the learning curve a lot as neither the campaigns nor instructions/tutorials do much to help you out online and finding a good resource can really help cut down on the endless spawn-die spawn-die cycle that makes so many people quit online games before they really get into the meat of them.

I'm talking about something like GameReplays.org for a game like Company of Heroes or Machinima Respawn's YouTube channel for something like Bad Company 2 or Call of Duty.

I think its fair to say that BOP is a little more niche than those examples but does anything exist like that for BOP?

Peace
ZZ

there are none and thats how it should be for a game like this, the only thing is this forum so you will have to search through the threads. but the best way to become an online ace is through lots and lots of air-time and talking tatics with your wingmen

Hey ZZ,

Which console are you playing on? If its XBOX then I'd be happy to take to the skies with you for a general fly about, get you to know some tactics and how to tackle the popular aircraft; even how to fly real or sim if you need it, I'm happy to help get another player online and competent

Let me know if your on live or interested, my GT is sloppyclock.

Hmm, then I hope the percentage of people in BOP with a headset is significantly higher than the general PS3 average.

Sorry SloppyClock, I'm on PS3 otherwise I would have definately taken you up on that offer.

il let sailor malan 74 squadron explain his ten rules of combat....1 Wait until you see the whites of his eyes. Fire short bursts of one to two seconds only when your sights are definitely "ON".2 Whist shooting think of nothing else, brace the whole of your body: have both hands on the stick: concentrate on your ring sight.3 Always keep a sharp lookout. "Keep your finger out".4 Height gives you the initiative.5 Always turn and face the attack.6 Make your decisions promptly. It is better to act quickly even though your tactics are not the best. 7 Never fly straight and level for more than 30 seconds in the combat area.8 When diving to attack always leave a proportion of your formation above to act as a top guard. 9 INITIATIVE, AGGRESSION, AIR DISCIPLINE, and TEAM WORK are words that MEAN something in Air Fighting. 10 Go in quickly - Punch hard - Get out! **
my b.o.p rules
dont sit behind il2,il10,they will fly straight and play mw2 with the rear gunnner, watch your team mates ,they will shoot through you to get to your smoking target
try and fly with a bit of rudder at all times
barrel roll to lose airspeed or change angle of attack

a lot of class players post on here(dk and shadow are 2 of them)im sure they will help you out,it wont be long before you get up to speed

I could obviously find this out by playing but as I'm at work I'll ask you guys instead. Does the game have a replay function for online games so you can watch them back from other people's perspectives and get some hints that way?

No replay function I am afraid. There are quite a few player videos knocking around though so check the threads

What I suggest to you is to start online in capture the airport mode. You won't get shot up as much and will have more time to practise gunnery. First thing you need to do is work out the firing lead. The guide reticle is off so you will need to get used to working out how much to lead a target based on it's speed and range

I'm an online n00b myself but I haven't had too much trouble...look up combat flight tactics on google....here's one:

http://library.thinkquest.org/3142/manuv.htm

so many classic scenarios seem to play out online...if you recognize them you'll at least have an idea what you should have done when you get killed the one that has got me the most kills is a properly timed initial turn...and stick with a plane you like so you get used to how it handles and how much you have to lead targets.
