Lightbulb Going Home - Realistic

Hello,

Has anyone managed to shoot down a Heinkel He 111 on realistic setting on the Going Home single mission? If you have, do you have any tips ?

No, it's kind of a "strategy training" mission, the whole point of it is to let you choose whether to attack them or not, and then see the consequences of trying to down a bomber with another bomber. Kind of like the "strange bomber" mission where they tell you to find the he-111 acting strange, and one of them is out of formation and easy to kill.

The only way you're ever gonna down a he-111 with a blenheim is to get in front of it and use gunner view. The bombers are far more dangerous on the 12 than on the 6.

Thanks,

I tried having a go at an he-111 on the training section and found it extreamly difficult. I certainly couldn't do it the time allocated for this mission

exactly, you're not supposed to. It's just a "make the right choice" kind of mission, though it's kind of stupid, because you don't even have to land, you just have to refuse to attack the bombers and then keep flying, and mission complete

There are some other dumb choice options in missions, like in the 2nd Stalingrad mission where you choose whether to talk to the Spanish dude over the city, it makes no difference to the mission at all

But the campaign one in Sicily where Johnson gets shot down is cool. It's dangerous to try but it can be done.
