Komani is an old school Japanese Publisher . One of the top arcade producers.
They also have put out a few sim titles along the rail gendre for ps2 Ps3
That I would love to get my hands on. I think that perhaps Gajin will have better results with them then another "western publisher".

Aircraft carrier wood top (KittyHawk??) with a deck of corsairs in a screen shot looks cool

Hahah just read post above me forgot about the Komani code

Once it doesn't have those horrendous Metal Gear Online hurdles it should be good.

I'm pretty dubious about the "massive multiplayer" aspect. Without dedicated servers there'll be nothing massive going on apart from lag.

100 rendered cockpits sounds doubtful to me too. Probably being overly sceptical though, considering they already have their engine and can focus more on those kind of assets this time around.

Everything else looks great. The only thing I don't like is the U.S. pacific planes, never liked them. But the carrier combat and the Zeros will make up for that. Shame they didn't tip their hat to the European theatre in the trailer, but I guess they wanted to show the new stuff first.

Just the first trailer and I need more information xDD. There are 8 campaign; Midway, Guadalcanal, Coral Sea, the Mediterranean Maltese island, Germany’s Ruhr Valley. And the others?. I do not think Pearl Harbor is a campaign, I think it is a mission.
Minimum should be a campaign in Europe and another on the Eastern Front

100 planes , Dauntless, Buffalo, Wildcat, Avenger, Zero, Val, Kate, confirmated for the trailer... Do we start with the bets?

My only reservtion is the cockpits, they look a little like 2D overlays, they look a bit flat..(?) The rest of it looks nice and fast and there's a lot going on.
All in all it looks great, bearing in mind it's at least 7 months away from release.

Fingers crossed that it delivers. (I'm buying it anyway)

I'm also glad to see a big name developer taking interest.

Not sure about 'birds of steel'... were any WWII planes made of steel?

At first I also thought the name's a bit awkward, but have come quickly to like it. It's a good name. Don't think of steel in the connotation of what the planes should be made of, but the qualities otherwise associated with the material, tough and strong, like in Men of Steel.

The name's gonna stick.

MAC

P.S.: What do you make of the logo? I love it
