FW won't run
I recently had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall everything. After I reinstalled Fantasy Wars, the game automatically started up and ran fine. However, now, when I try to run it by clicking on the shortcut--or by going to the folder and clicking on the exe file--I get a message telling me to "Please insert DVD of 'Fantasy Wars,'" even though the DVD is in the drive.
My computer specs: Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6400+ 3.21 GHz 4 GB of RAM ATI Radeon HD 3870 Display Adapter Does anyone have any idea what I can do to resolve this? Thanks |

An update: I reinstalled the game several times, but it continued to fail to recognize that the DVD was in the drive. Finally, I reinstalled, but without applying the multiplayer patch. It runs now.
What am I missing without the patch? |

The patch is for a different version of the game. Once you installed it the copy protection on the exe changed to some other version of the dvd.
You probably aren't missing anything. |

Thanks a lot for replying. I hope you're right about not missing anything without the patch. Now, if they could only finish Elven Legacy! |
