Point system overhaul
Some things need adjusting.
Assigning 100 points per aircraft engine does not make sense as it is often much easier to shoot down twin and four-engined aircraft than a fighter with a good pilot in it. AAA installations, ships and other targets that shoot back should be worth more points than those that do not, they are hard to kill. Points for shooting down aircraft might be awarded on their ammunition load they carry. Shoot down a fighter that has all it's rounds or a bomber that has it's bombs and get 100 points, if they have no ammo or bombs then 10 points as you have not helped the strategic cause as much. Enemy fighters and bombers that land after having caused damage to your assets get their points while having the same number of points subtracted evenly from all opponents scores. If you get shot down on your side of the line your pilot is worth 10 points as is each of his kills, if he is killed or captured then 1 point. Server admins have the ability to turn all points off so that the only award for flying on a server with an objective is a Map win. |

Yes the points system is strange.
Shoot down a Ju52: 300 points. Shoot down three Fw190: 300 points. Now if you are not an absolute expert marksman and/or totally lucky, Task 1 is orders of magnitude easier than Task 2. I wouldn't value ammoload too much or not at all, because if you shoot down an enemy plane, that's lots of man-hours of work building that plane going down - and thats what counts IMHO. |

For years asking to replace the points with icons as in the QMB has not been forthcoming so I see no reason for them to change it now.
Any more demands on TD to make your style of flying easier, better, more interesting etc etc will be deleted unless put in the TD suggestions thread. Thanks. Last edited by KG26_Alpha; 02-25-2014 at 08:05 PM. |
