Request: Upon Install Checklist

Is it possible that somebody could write up a checklist of things that new buyers should do to avoid as many problems as possible. Mainly because i know there are tips and tricks about in this forum and others.

e.g "Disable Steam CLoud" (no idea what that means but i heard it helps)

However, maybe this thread could be a culmination of efforts to get this game running aswell as possible before patches fix them permenantly?

Also be as specific as possible, as certain problems may be down to specific issues with GPU's or certain configs, don't want this thread to muck up peoples games any further!
