Default Attack > Defend bonus cap?

I know that if the attacker's Attack is higher than the defender's Defend, there's a damage bonus of up to 300%.

Does anyone know at what point the 300% tops out? i.e., Attack +6 higher than Defend, +10, etc?

Just curious; could impact whether to bother max'ing Frenzy.

Well, near the end of the game my elven hunters had around 50-60 higher attack than some lvl 1-2 enemies had defence and at that point once I gave them the dragon arrow, they would no longer gain any advantage from it. Someone probably knows the exact numbers but I'll throw in an estimation of ~50 to start the thread off.

I am not 100% sure but I think each point of difference is 3% more damage. So it would cap when your unit has 100 more attack than enemy unit has defense.

I read somewhere (tool tip I think, but could have been the manual or loading screen tip) that the maximum bonus / reduction you can get is 3 times.

Dunno the exact way it's calculated, but I'd imagine it's attack/defense. Just working it out on 3% per point would mean very little difference between low level armies (eg. swordsman and a fairy).

Eg: your enemy has 10 defense.

You have 1, 2 or 3 attack, you do 33% damage.

You have 4 attack, you do 40% damage.

You have 10 attack, you do 100% damage.

You have 20 attack, you do 200% damage.

You have 30 attack, you do 300% damage.

You have 31 or more attack, you still do 300% damage.

If Attack of a being is more than Defense of the enemy the loss raises several times (on 3,33 % for unit of a difference of Attack and Defense). For example, if Attack to 15 units is more than Defense, the loss will increase in 1,5 times; on 30 - in 2 times etc. The Loss cannot become more than in 3 times big, than base value of a loss (the Attack and Defense difference thus = 60).

If Defense of the enemy is more than being Attack the loss goes down several times (see detailed calculation of a loss). For example, at Defense higher Attacks to 15 there will be loss 1,5 times less (differently - on third less); on 30 - in 2 times less etc. The Loss there cannot be less than in 3 times smaller, than a base value of a loss (the Defense and Attack difference thus = 60).

(loss=damage in that translation).
Read the Fan Manual (not paper) for more detailed info with formulas and examles of damage calculation.

If I understand that translation right max damage bonus is 200%. So you can at max do 3 times damage than if attack and defense are same.

So correct calculations for damage when attack is bigger than defense would be:

0 = 100%
1 = 103.3%
2 = 106.6%
10 = 133%
20 = 166%
30 = 200%
40 = 233%
50 = 266%
60+ = 300%

If defense is greater than attack then damage is

0 = 100%
-1 = 96.8%
-2 = 93.8%
-5 = 85.8%
-10 = 75.2%
-15 = 66.6%
-30 = 50%
-45 = 40%
-60 = 33.3%
