1 unit orc army/no sound under tree of life

hi all, i was just wondering if this was a bug or intended...when i went under the tree of life to kill the orcs cutting away at the roots, the music would play normally on the map, but when i encountered an army and went to the battle screen, the music would not play.

additionally, 6 or so out of the 8 orc troops down there were comprised of 1 orc :p is that intended? or a bug too?
