Orcs on the March Expansion

Maybe I am just confused, but when I "start a new game" for Orcs on the March, it starts the exact same way as the Armored Princess game with Baal out front blocking the bridge away from the castle. Is this normal?

I played Armored Princess about a year ago now and loved it very much. I recently reinstalled windows on my computer and then today reinstalled the game so there is no save file. I guess I am asking is the expansion something that pops up at the end of a game? Or is it a new set of levels that starts on its own like the other two things, Defender of the crown, etc. It has its own unique beginning.
