Default P-47 Question...

is it considered a bomber or a fighter???

trying to get the B-17 and have been using the Arado but it's only defense is speed... and only carries 3 500 lb. bombs....

It's a fighter

Use a Ju-87D-3 or a Heinkel He-111H-16, Noone will like you if you use an Arado all the time lol.

It sure does seem to take damage like a bomber.

At first the P-47 was a fighter, then it was turned into a fighter-bomber where it got much credit as being a sort of American 'Typhoon' or 'Tempest'. But the Thunderbolt, could take much more damage than either of those planes from what I've read.

But in game, it's a fighter-bomber I would say.

its a mix between an il2 and a p51.
a really badass-plane in sim.
especially in cta ^^

btw...
i can destroy more ground-targets in sim/unlimmeted ammo with a stuka, than a b17.
try it... ^^

Yes, but the important thing is that the game classes it as a fighter so you can't use it to unlock the B-17.

Agree about the P47, but I have to remember to put the flaps up as soon as I have landed. Some one, who I shall not mention by name ( sod it, why not?......it's Robotic Pope!), bombs me as soon as I land and the damned flaps are stuck down for the rest of the game.....bugs realy bug me (as well RP's bombing accuaracy!)

Haha, sorry my friend.

I got a tip for you though, I only found this out a few weeks back. The landing flaps getting stuck when you spawn isn't a bug. The fact that the landing flaps remain down when you respawn can be considered a bug but they are not stuck at first. They jam down when you accelerate after your spawn. So as long as you remember to raise them as soon as you spawn you will never have the landing flaps stuck problem. (edit: isnt that another thing the patch does is to actually tell you in text when you have jammed your flaps?)

I can't remember, do the landing flaps raise automatically when you raise the landing gear? Because I dont recall ever having flaps jammed without crashing with them down.

Now you tell me! Never told me that when I've been flying around at 30mph with full flaps trying to down your Armour plated IL-.......hmm. wonder why that is? But now I know...not that it will make a jot of difference........
